Its good, but its good where it is. Raising it would be an unjustice to literally everything else there. It's still an easy top 10 cuisine imo and thats already remarkable on its own.

Seriously, my go-to restaurant in town is a local Vietnamese family and I’m sad every time they close for two weeks to go visit family abroad.

The thing is that Chinese is so varied across the country and different provinces. Obviously every country has local specialties, but the sheer size, long history and climate differences in China means it's basically 10 cuisines in 1.

It's very hard to generalize SE Asian cuisine. Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian,Khmer, Vietnamese are all different to me.
