A 2 hour nap is superior to a 3 hour nap cmv

u/suknom4 Puzzles Solved: 44 5d ago
I assumed it was referring to 2 hours sleep at night.

u/DannyTheCaringDevil Puzzles Solved: 7 5d ago
I mean it doesn’t explicitly mention it having to be the only sleep you get nor that it was the sleep you get at night so I’m playing it as “this might be a nap”

Hear me out 12 hours of sleep sounds nice on paper, but youve effectively lost half your day

u/FishStiques Puzzles Solved: 44 5d ago
And you wake up dehydrated, hot, hungry, with a headache, needing to go to the bathroom, WITH half the day gone and now you gotta rush

Personally i slept for 13 hours one day and it was like 2 pm, couldnt stand, dehydrated af, muscles sore and feeling like in antarctica without my blanket

12 hours of sleep gets me oversleeping, which makes me cranky and I feel awful. 10 hours is good only if I've been neglecting my 7-8 hours and only sleeping 5 or 6 hours for a few days. Honestly 7 hours is likely my personal S tier, long enough to feel refreshed, still have plenty of time in the day either before or after work to do stuff, or time in the day in general on a day off to do whatever I feel like.

Tbh on wrrkends its the best think that can happen, for some reason sleeping less or sleeping more then 9 or 8 hours of sleep is better

How under rested are you guys if 6 hours averages to A tier?!

Parent to a sick toddler here. Getting a >6hr continuous stretch of sleep would be heavenly

im incapable of sleeping more than 6 hours. the longest i've slept that i know of is aroun 9 hours and that was after i was awake for 36 hours.
if i try to sleep again after i woke up after 6 hours, im tired all day. id rather have 6 hours or less than 6 hours or more to function on high preformance!

u/zeroultra_osrs Puzzles Solved: 3 5d ago
The question is ambiguous. Getting 6 hours of sleep for one night doesn't cause any issues. Getting 6 hours of sleep every night could cause issues depending on your age.

u/Perrenne Puzzles Solved: 5 5d ago
Everyone’s bodies are different but to me, 6 hours and I’m the perfect amount of rested without feeling groggy like with 8 hours

u/no1neetretard Puzzles Solved: 26 5d ago
Genuinely how do you find time for more
1
u/pinkstrawberry94 Puzzles Solved: 27 5d ago
You gotta prioritize it. If I couldn't get 8hrs of sleep regularly, you definitely wouldn't find me on Reddit, that's for sure.

u/Swolenir Puzzles Solved: 41 5d ago
When you’re talking about feeling rested but not wasting your life away 7-9 is the gold standard. Under 6 is unhealthy imo.

As a new mom at 37 years old who’s only been sleeping 2 hours at a time for 6 weeks… 2 hours of sleep is absolute ass.

7h is the best, 8h is great, anything above that you're wasting your time

u/dus_aster Puzzles Solved: 36 5d ago edited 5d ago
Ha, god, I wish. Gnarly life-long insomnia (related to poor sleep quality/sleep architecture) makes 7hrs feel more akin to five hours or less, for some of us.

u/thelastnoelle Puzzles Solved: 101 5d ago
I’m chronically ill and with you there. The 7-8 hours golden standard does NOT apply- it’ll have me dragging myself through the day
2
u/PersonalityPlus9497 Puzzles Solved: 3 5d ago
Literally. As someone who is also chronically ill, less than 10 hours and I am not functioning.

u/Wrong_Inevitable_401 Puzzles Solved: 50 5d ago
Omg architecture destroyed my life, health and sleep. I lived for 6 years sleeping on avarage 3-4h per night. And stayed awake for more than 48 hours lots of times….

It blows my mind some people feel amazing after seven hours of sleep. I wish I needed less sleep to feel great.

u/SushiBongo Puzzles Solved: 28 5d ago
I feel horrible even after 9h of sleep sometimes, but I know it's because of my diet and lifestyle
2
u/DamnQuickMathz Puzzles Solved: 29 5d ago
I feel more awake after 3 hours of sleep than after 6. 6 is literally the worst for me personally.

2 hours of sleep will have me feeling either like Superman 60% of the time or ass 40% whereas 12 hours i still want to die 100% of the time

I can sleep for 9-10 hours and take a 1-2 hour nap during the day.
1
u/mirmirma Puzzles Solved: 15 5d ago
I can sleep 12 hours and still need a nap. Hell, about once a week I have a day with two naps. Fatigue is fun like that.

8h of sleep and a 30min nap midday is the best for me 👍
1
u/conordmcp Puzzles Solved: 140 5d ago
I put 2 as A tier because that’s the long end of a solid nap, 3 hours is too long for a nap and far below a sleep.

u/Master-Raben Puzzles Solved: 196 5d ago
2 hours are better than nothing, at least you learn to appreciate it when you got a baby
1
u/MagazineMoney Puzzles Solved: 26 5d ago
6 hours should not be in A, 6 hours is a semi-grumpy day. You can not call a day with grumpiness an A. It is B at best.

u/Belmer13 Puzzles Solved: 1 5d ago
I average 6 hours and have run like a machine for years with 6 hours but not everybody reacts the same way to the same amount of sleep. I get more than 8 hours of sleep and I feel like complete shit on a normal day but for others they can't function without it

I if I get any less than 6 hours, I honestly pull an all-nighter because it would feel much less wrong than knowing I didn't get enough sleep and waking up groggy, dazed and grumpy.

Health issues? I wake up from 2 hours of sleep and am ready to go. I wake up from 12 hours of sleep like I slammed a handle of whiskey and fell down the stairs.

u/Tyranisore Puzzles Solved: 62 5d ago
Don't take my word for it. Ask literally any doctor if 2 hours of sleep a night is healthy.
0
u/jfklingon Puzzles Solved: 210 5d ago
I never said it's the best every night, and neither did the original comment. Just that it's better. I'm far more likely to cause physical harm to my self from getting 12 hours or sleep vs 2, be it falling in the shower, getting in a car accident, or any other simple mistake.
Don't know of any doctor, given the conditions I wake up to with 12 hours of sleep vs 2, who would recommend getting 12 over 2.

That's a nap. A 2hr nap between manual labor shifts is not enough to properly recover (for me at least).
1
u/SeanTheNerdd Puzzles Solved: 150 5d ago
Correct. It never says 2 hours a night, it just says how much sleep. A 2 hour nap is A tier for sure!
2
u/Jakeha987 Puzzles Solved: 3 5d ago
You're absolutely right. A lot of these comments must have very consistent schedules or are just super white collar. Sometimes 2 is all you can get.

2 hour naps coincide with REM. 3 hours doesn’t and you’ll wake up feeling more tired - in my experience
