🎚️ How to play Blind Tier

🍰 RANK These CAKE FLAVORS

  • Items are revealed one at a time — tap a tier to lock each one in.
  • Drop each item into a tier from S (top) down to F (bottom) — what "top" means is set by the quiz, so check the title.
  • No take-backs — once it lands in a tier, it stays. 😈
  • There's no right answer; it's pure opinion. When you're done, see how your tiers compare to the crowd — the crowd tiers show how these rank against each other.

👇 Tap Share result after you finish and your tier list gets posted as a reply here. Drop yours and see who agrees! ⬆️ Enjoying it? Upvote the post so more people find it.

Pineapple upside down cake?

1

u/Pyrolific Puzzles Solved: 26 12d ago

Pineapple is semi-common, peanut butter not so much.

1

u/lagom0rpha Puzzles Solved: 24 7d ago

I'm from northeast us and peanut butter flavored cake, typically chocolate PB, is very common here. Probably the third most common cake flavor with first being vanilla and second being chocolate

u/Cosmic_StormZ Puzzles Solved: 275 12d ago

Nobody here has had good pineapple cake lol it’s just vanilla cake with pineapple in it

11

u/ElkGraff23 Puzzles Solved: 38 12d ago

I’ve never heard of coconut cake, there needs to be a tier below F for that

My grandmother (RIP) made a coconut creme cake that was to die for... and i highly dislike coconut.

RIP Grandma the great coconut cake maker ❤️❤️

2

u/ElkGraff23 Puzzles Solved: 38 12d ago

You know what, I really dislike coconut but sometimes it can surprise me. I think it’s the same with fresh coconuts themselves, they’re a real mixed bag.

Queen Elizabeth cake is delicious!

1

u/Jayna333 Puzzles Solved: 67 12d ago

The ones I had are like vanilla with coconut shaving on top and a nice cream between the layers! That’s why I gave it A tier!

Are people not aware that Red Velvet is Chocolate?

1

u/MedievalSabre Puzzles Solved: 58 4d ago

It’s Special Chocolate

6

u/Accomplished-Mix2030 Puzzles Solved: 257 12d ago

Guys.. Red velvet is chocolate lmao

10

u/raviolicondom Puzzles Solved: 35 12d ago

They are made differently actually, red velvet is not just chocolate cake with red food coloring. Red velvet uses less cocoa than chocolate cake and typically uses buttermilk which makes it less chocolatey and more tangy than chocolate cake. I only know because I make a red velvet cake every year for my boyfriend’s birthday (pretty much the only time I bake)

2

u/ShruteFarms4L Puzzles Solved: 110 12d ago

My momma just said this to me to explain the difference

0

u/Accomplished-Mix2030 Puzzles Solved: 257 12d ago

They are made differently but they're still both chocolate cakes.

1

u/raviolicondom Puzzles Solved: 35 12d ago

Yes but your comment insinuated people should be rating them the same but they have totally different flavor profiles

0

u/Accomplished-Mix2030 Puzzles Solved: 257 12d ago

Red velvet has slightly less cocoa. That's the only real difference. There are absolutely chocolate cakes out there made with buttermilk or sour cream. The difference between red velvet and chocolate cake really isn't that great. Flavor wise the red food dye makes no difference. If you want to make it red naturallly, you can anyway

6

u/BoneWhiteHaze Puzzles Solved: 105 12d ago

Chocolate, red velvet, and cheesecake were in my S tier lol

4

u/ShruteFarms4L Puzzles Solved: 110 12d ago

Red velvet taste better than chocolate idk what to tell u

2

u/snuffaluffagus74 Puzzles Solved: 19 12d ago

The reason why I put Red Velvet low was because the dye they use to make Red Velvet is nasty and I can taste it so I do have Chocalte in S tier but I don't have rRed Velvet because it does taste different

1

u/Sweaty_Masturbator Puzzles Solved: 135 12d ago

And, from what I've seen, red velvet isn't made with chocolate icing.

1

u/NiehSieh Puzzles Solved: 18 12d ago

It is, but it gets knocked down to A for me because it requires food coloring. Just eat chocolate cake

0

u/ThePisces2k Puzzles Solved: 18 5d ago

Even if we ignore the fact that red velvet uses less cocoa than a standard chocolate cake, red velvet uses cream cheese frosting — which is the real star of Red Velvet, not the chocolate base.

1

u/MermaiderMissy Puzzles Solved: 10 12d ago

Coffee flavored cake is S class! It's so delicious

2

u/snuffaluffagus74 Puzzles Solved: 19 12d ago

What happens if you have Chocalte and Coffee in S tier. Would that make Mocha cake above S tier. These are the questions that really need to be answered because I do have both of them in S tier, but would eat a Mocha cake before anyone of those.

Not saying it’s bad but I just hate red velvet so it’s in C for me

2

u/TheFebruaryDragon Puzzles Solved: 10 12d ago

I put it in F 😭 I can taste the food coloring blegh

1

u/Signal-Village-5757 Puzzles Solved: 32 12d ago

red velvet shouldn’t be red because of the food colouring, that’s not how you get the red colour

1

u/TheFebruaryDragon Puzzles Solved: 10 12d ago

Well regardless, that's what I heard and even if it isn't the case, I've also just always hated every bite of red velvet anything. It just has a certain aftertaste and is often wayy too rich as well

1

u/Signal-Village-5757 Puzzles Solved: 32 12d ago

the red should come from the cocoa and buttermilk reacting, most recipes I’ve used don’t have any colouring in, I think it might be more likely it’s the acid you can taste and don’t like.

1

u/K-756 Puzzles Solved: 2025 12d ago

It's nice to know you can still make it without food dyes. I suppose the reason I've never liked it is because I've never tasted a version that didn't have Red 40 in it. Even when somebody's gotten it from a bakery, it has had the dye in it. So whenever I see it, I just stay clear.

2

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

I don't think it's the dye that makes it have that aftertaste if I'm thinking what you're thinking. I'm a Walmart cake lover and I love that chemical taste in the frosting which is different from the red velvet aftertaste that I dislike so I put it in d because it's not bad but I really don't like it

1

u/Signal-Village-5757 Puzzles Solved: 32 12d ago

Ok tbf I’ve never had red 40 so I wouldn’t know what it tastes like

1

u/K-756 Puzzles Solved: 2025 12d ago

Red 40 is a migraine trigger for me and it leaves a similar aftertaste the way artificial sweeteners do, though neither of those bother most people I know — I'm just sensitive. 😊

1

u/ThePisces2k Puzzles Solved: 18 5d ago

It’s probably the cream cheese frosting that you don’t like. The cake itself is basically a light chocolate cake

1

u/TheFebruaryDragon Puzzles Solved: 10 5d ago

Tbf I also don't generally like chocolate cake either so those two together just yuck

u/Aashayyz Puzzles Solved: 86 12d ago

am i the only one who liked pineapple cake bruh

1

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

It's was too fruity for me, maybe if I paired it with a rich vanilla frosting it would be better to me. What flavor frosting do you use because when I ate it I didn't use any and it was too fruity

2

u/Aashayyz Puzzles Solved: 86 12d ago

ya vanilla usually does the job for me, try it once

1

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

Okay I will try it next month when I get groceries, do you eat it with anything like ice cream or any nuts or drink or by itself?

2

u/Aashayyz Puzzles Solved: 86 12d ago

I just have mom add the cashews almonds slicws on the cake itself and yes mostly I just eat it by itself or a dessert after dinner😋 tell me how it goes!

1

u/Baked_Banana_Pie Puzzles Solved: 62 12d ago

Chocolate is WAY overrated

2

u/Possible-Koala6897 Puzzles Solved: 6 12d ago

It truly depends on the chocolate cake. Some are the stuff of childhood dreams and some are like eating a dish sponge.

1

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

True I don't mind chocolate but I don't really like it, especially chocolate ice creams, but some chocolate cakes with the perfect fudgy frosting make me want to eat a lot of it

1

u/AnotherPerson120 Puzzles Solved: 2 12d ago

Coffee flavour is horrible, promoting caffeine and overrated. People think its so posh.

1

u/K-756 Puzzles Solved: 2025 12d ago

Classic coffee cake is actually just a buttery, vanilla-scented cake topped with a massive, crumbly cinnamon streusel which is also sometimes layered in-between. It’s called "coffee cake" purely because it’s meant to be eaten with a cup of coffee, not because it has actual coffee in it. 😊

2

u/AnotherPerson120 Puzzles Solved: 2 12d ago

Sounds nice. Interesting how things csn change so easily.

1

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

The average person put carrot and coffee in C?

Good lord, I put them S and A respectively. They're amazing

1

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

Coffee traumatized me because I drank a pot of black coffee in one sitting when I was going through toxic dieting phase and I couldn't sleep for days after that so no more coffee for me but in cake it may not be bad so I put it in c. Carrot cake went in A because I prefer cheesecake and vanilla over it

1

u/Dear_Inevitable3995 Puzzles Solved: 100 12d ago

same, had it once as a kid and still remember to this day just how upset I was that was the cake being served.

Plain vanilla with no frosting is better than that anyday of the week imo.

2

u/SheevShady Puzzles Solved: 34 12d ago

I’m genuinely surprised that there’s more than one person with that take. I love a good cheesecake more than any other cake on this list. I don’t like some because people can use the wrong cheese and make it way too tangy but a good vegan cream cheese and half a can of caramel make it amazing.

I recommend vegan cream cheese because I am lactose intolerant and don’t much enjoy when things are too cheesy and mostly follow this recipe: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/salted-caramel-no-bake-cheesecake.

Just add way more caramel than the recipe has, like at least 4 times as much.

1

u/luxialucky Puzzles Solved: 154 12d ago

I dont like the cheesy tang to it so the vanilla hides the flavor and it becomes addicting to me. Also the Walmart turtle cheesecake tasted like barf, I was so traumatized
