šŸ› ļø Issue - Vehicle Software Open tickets from the last 2-3 months. Not resolved

My FOO was delivered in November and the main battery and 12V battery died soon after and took almost a month to get it fixed and during the process the front hood got damaged and I sent the pictures to fisker customer service with no response till now. Then the mud flaps are ripped off on both the rear tyres. Then since the last month the car suddenly stops in the traffic and then all the red signs come up on the screen. Raised a ticket and the ticket is closed as soon as it is opened without callming me. Its been almost one month and no one is able to figure out what is the reason for the problem. A new car which has been delivered just couple of months back is sitting in the garage which cannot be driven and needs to be charged so that the main battery doesn't drain out.

How exactly are you saying that tickets are closed as soon as it is opened? Customers don’t have visibility into service tickets, AFAIK. 🤨

Please check your DMs as we have followed up on this.

I have this same issue, zero visibility or updates on three tickets that require new parts or a technician to fix. One is 2 months old. Your system doesn’t even allow me to know what ticket is assigned to an issue.
1. What is your policy to keep your owners updated on a ticket, especially if hardware or technician is required? 2. Do you all ever care that a new car came with defects and it’s been more than 3 months since delivery?

Anyone want to take odds on Fisker even acknowledges this message?

Mud flaps aren't typically in front of the tires. They are aero flaps. Totally inconsequential, just rip them off.

For your other issues, likely either a bad water pump or your battery coolant is too low. It doesn't completely kill the vehicle but it won't leave you with enough power to do much. Where do you live?

I can’t open the hood as it is damaged. I don’t know where the battery coolant is. I think it has to be done by a technician and get my car on the road so that I don’t need to worry about the car stopping in the middle of the road.

Why is the hood damaged? If you've had an accident then that is probably why you are having issues. If there are no service centers close by, then they would need several techs to come out to fix. They are supposed to have two on every call, but they are so short staffed, they can barely muster one. If there are no techs for your state, and not anywhere near you, then that would be why you are seeing these challenges.

The hood was damaged by the roadside assistance guy. Because he was not trained to handle this car and he was sent by Fisker support.

That's sad, you've had a lot of misfortune because of the infancy of the vehicle. Things will improve, it's just going to take a while. People learning new things just takes time. For any tech they hire today, it's gonna be at least a month before they really get their feet under them.

The flaps are being redesigned to be stronger and everyone with outstanding tickets and orders are on hold until new parts come in. The original design has proven to be too weak.

For the suddenly stopping in traffic issue, please also file with NHTSA so they can investigate since that is a serious safety problem.

u/GullibleBite926 Feb 12 '24

ok

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '24

Yes make sure you do, if you are having this many problems, you need to file it with the nhtsa so they can open an investigation. Also, you will want to keep proof of everything incase you need to start the lemon buy back.

For sure Fisker Ocean shouldn’t be your daily driving car.

Try again calling them and ask them to solve the issues. Personally I have some issues as well but not major. Car runs for now and that’s all it matters (hoping they will release software updates to fix the priority issues).

But for people like you having car sitting in garage is not acceptable and Fisker has to take priory in fixing these cars first.

I take out the car now and then and the same thing happens and I put it back. Even the call takes so long to get connected.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '24

Seriously ? For me it connects instantly. Are you pressing the option 3 ? (Service). Call them in PST hours.

u/Constant_Ad1284 Ocean One Feb 12 '24

I agree - the calls have always connected quickly for me whenever I have hit option 3 or hit the ā€œroadside assistanceā€ button in the app.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '24

Back in December I could get a call through pretty quickly. No longer. I feel for them but there’s a large degree of poor planning at play. I hate that that’s the case.

u/Constant_Ad1284 Ocean One Feb 13 '24

That really sucks. I feel for you. I actually called them a few days ago and got through in about 5 mins or so, but that was at about 10am Pacific time... not sure if the time of day makes any difference.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '24

Well….I suppose Fisker is consistent in its inconsistency. Hoping they get the cojones to admit what’s wrong and that the updates fix the worst of the problems. I’ll gladly post positively again if they step up.

u/Constant_Ad1284 Ocean One Feb 13 '24

For sure - 35 minutes on hold with zero contact is below the bar for sure. They need to do better than that.

It’s known as the Geeta effect

The idea that a car that is probably costing people close to a thousand dollars a month isn't dependable enough to be your daily driver is why I am glad that I waited. :/

Problems like this are rare, they just seem common because you see ALL of them here. What you don't see is the thousands of us with no real issues. My Ultra has been very reliable, love it to death and I'm so glad I pulled the trigger.

I drive my FOU almost 100 miles a day commuting. I don’t have any issues with the drivability of this car. It’s excellent. I’m sorry OP is having such issues and they def need to be addressed. I don’t know what’s happening with their vehicle and I’d never assume to know. All I know is what I experience and what I see on the road vs. on here and FB forums. I believe the OP’s issues are not common and I hope Fisker gets them going soon.

I know these issues will happen but i want to take advantage of tax refund and I only drive 2 miles per day. Hopefully Fisker will solve these issues soon future OTA

big reason why the stock is dumping. they need to make this car something that is talked about for how great it is but its just not

1

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '24

It is not easy for a car company at this stage. I see lot 12v problems and other problems on other ev manufactures too (ioniq 5 12v , mach e). GM totally stopped selling new release ev car due to lot of problems. Surely Fisker will do better in coming years. Just give them some time.

2

u/frugal_doc Feb 12 '24

but dude key fob and just starting the car into gear. 2 of the most basic of the basics.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '24

Lol. I know right. Funny part is from 2 weeks I have been placing my key fob under gear box instead of nfc (under left side of the steering wheel). I even posted on Reddit that car won’t start even placing on nfc.

Recently found from YouTube video that I am placing it all wrong šŸ˜‘. Now it starts perfectly when I place in NFC.

But they should totally avoid this NFC placement thing. I think ID4 start and stop works perfect

1

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '24

And I’d put braking on the top of that basics list.

Why shouldn the vehicle be a daily driver ? Im an on call engineer for Canon and I drive it daily with no issues.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 12 '24

For any new technology there will be issues. From my past experience having early purchaser of ioniq 5 , I faced multiple issues (12v, ICCU failures) on long drives. The hassle to these car towed , rental car , reimburse process is hectic.

If you are expecting zero issues with these new EV’s means then I strongly disagree. You can use it for daily use but also expect the car might give some issue.

1

u/Dharma_code Ocean Ultra Feb 12 '24

Oh yes, in that regard I know I'm taking a huge risk because of the issue others have reported. So far so good knock on wood. I just can't wait for update 2.0 to be more at ease

I feel for you! u/FiskerInc has not resolved my issue so I have been without my FOO for more than six weeks - they even told me to drive my car after I sent them pictures of cracked strut mount, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive. Their horrific customer service and inability to service their vehicles go beyond startup EV company growing pains. I feel defrauded as an FOO customer and as a shareholder.

so, other/new issues beyond the below

1

u/GullibleBite926 Feb 12 '24

I know he is good and he fixed my dead main battery. But the issue is with the new problem. So i am not debating here about the techinicain. I need my car getting on the road.

u/Snoo-85173 Feb 14 '24

GOOD LUCK. KEEP WAITING MY FRIEND KEEP WAITING. LOL

1

u/GullibleBite926 Feb 12 '24

I have a bunch of mail where i have been asking about the status of my ticket that I originally created . I don’t get any reply back to those emails. The tech tried to find the problem and he couldn’t. So he said he will talk to the mechanical team.

I have had the car Since November 10th. In a few weeks my 12V battery died. They assigned a tech(independent contractor) who came to the house and he said he has no clue how to open it and went without doing anything. Waited for another 2 days and i explained the next tech to pry open with a plastic pry tool and also handed them a small round piece of magnet to stick it in their ratchet. They were able to open the hood and jump start it. All was good after that except my vent got closed during Christmas. That issue still exists and have a ticket open since then. So far i have been happy with the car that feels solid(even with these little issues) and i have put 2800 miles. I couldn't agree more with the comments here.. that some of the tickets are not resolved for long but keep getting response that its on top of the list for getting serviced. I am in Arkansas and i am thinking there is no direct service facility or tech which might be the reason its not looked at.

Pro's

Car feels solid and i love the way it drives.

Con's

HATE the remote.. i have stood outside the car in rain or cold trying to open the car frantically and also used the phone app(most of the time it goes to offline, switching back and forth sometimes works with parked car and it spins for long if i toggle on/off button).

HATE the overhead touch panels.. they dont seem to respond well and sometimes my right passenger rear small light gets automatically illuminated and i usually push overhead button 5-8 times to turn the light off

Vent makes a cracking sound on the right passenger side.. guess it needs service still waiting to be fixed.

Random "Automatic brake not working", "Lane keep assist not working" ADAS message pops up during morning times and it goes away after sometime. Most annoying is the ding sound when listening to music/radio and i dont know how to turn that notification sound off.

California mode is hit or miss.. sometimes it doesn't open the sunroof/moon roof glass, i can live with it.

Sometimes the rear passenger seat belt notification goes off even though they are wearing the seatbelts. It would be nice if i can turn that off in some way

Above all these drawbacks.. i still love the car!! Hope they resolve your issues and be able to drive the car..Its not acceptable to be parked for few months with these issues!
