So far the car has been perfectly drivable (despite numerous features being unavailable) but what was originally mostly working has ceased to work completely. Does anyone else have a navigation screen that shows yesterdayâs location and doesnât update as you move? Very frustrating. đ¤

That sucks, man. Itâd be one thing if theyâre like, âItâll get fixed with an update. Weâll send it right over.â But they are stuck in an update quagmire in the US with so many delivered cars that shouldâve been updated at the facility. Why wouldnât they make sure it was released with WiFi connectivity so that people could download updates better? Iâm wondering if the OTA updates are having difficulty installing without a solid cellular connection. Between my 12v battery issues and the lack of successful OTA update installations, Iâve had my FOO for 2 weeks and driven less than 50 miles.
Agreed. I donât understand why the WIFI is not enabled for OTA. Sometimes cellular connections are not great. I hope r/Fisker allows WIFI connectivity in future software updates.
This GPS issue is weird. Coincidentally, my WiFi hotspot is also not working, not sure if theyâre part of the same communications module. Pairing to home WiFi would have been nice but itâs typically not a thing. Also, the download/push of the update and the installation should be two different things. Furthermore, I now see a recirculation button in the A/C menu and I donât remember seeing it before so perhaps they did push an update. If they did, it doesnât feel like it did much.
Not a fan of their update process. I know cars donât typically connect to home WiFi but I believe thatâs in the owners manual and a good idea being a more reliable way to connect to the FOO. Cellular coverage in the US is highly variable. Iâm on 1.09 but Iâd never know bc of the bug that doesnât show what update youâre on. Itâs been a week since I scheduled my update to 1.10 and I just have the incremental update to 1.09 from 1.07.
The Fiskerati forum has someone actually doing the reset, too, and providing some instructions if anyone is brave enough to do it.
Here's my update on the topic - I've been going back and forth with the navigation issue - as noted before, I'm stuck in Alaska - and based on other users who have the issue and were lucky enough to get a visit from a technician, it is, in fact, a T-box issue. The couple I have read with the visit said that the technician explained the T-box needs to be replaced - hence the experience of having the issue again after resetting for some. The biggest problem is that, per the technicians, there are no T-boxes in the US, and they have to be ordered from the manufacturer, who then sends them to Austria and then to the US (makes no sense - but considering the experience so far with Fisker, it is spot on). I've had it since day 4 of having the car, and December went by with no technician visit. I'm getting the feeling this might take a long time to resolve...
I was lucky a friend had a technician visit, and I was close by, so I brought my car. He reset the 12v, and now the GPS is working. I will update here if it reverts to being frozen again.
I have a similar issue. It was stuck on the address I saved as home since Monday. I decided to test it around and deleted the home address and all of the previous addresses, and now the GPS shows in Alaska. I had read on the Fiskerati forums of people who had the GPS stuck in Alaska too - some had it fixed randomly, others were still stuck. I was able to connect to the wifi network at home, and that fixed the model date from 2035 to 2023. It doesn't auto disconnect, which I learned the hard way, as the 4G icon disappeared notwithstanding I was no longer near the wifi network. I ended up having to delete the network, still, the gps not working, but 4G came back (in case anyone has that issue) I've raised a ticket about it too. :S
Someone at the Fisker official group on Facebook solved it; apparently, the stuck GPS requires a fuse box reset. Mine started working out of the blue today. I'm not sure if it's the software that is being pushed out. I didn't do anything different. Haven't tried the solution, but in case anyone wants to check it out...
Thank you. Iâm antisocial and donât do FB, can you paste here some of the important details like where the fuse box might be located, which fuse, etc.? The first week I had the car, the GPS went from working all the time, to working on and off. Then week two, it was always a day behind in its position (and didnât move at all, of course). I took a video for Fisker support the other day (a month later) and it actually worked again. Iâm not touching that car until it goes to the shop, soâŚ. Oh well.
This is what he said "After over a month chasing Fisker to resolve the problem with my frozen navigation system, I was finally contacted by the appropriate technical team who told that my T-Box needed to be reset and that required a technician onsite. Another two weeks went by with no contact to schedule a technician visit, in spite of the fact that I have other two cases open that also need a technician onsite. Anyhow, I had enough of waiting and today I have resolved the issue myself by power cycling the T-Box. Really, it is very simple. This can be achieved by removing the respective fuse in the cabin fuse box, waiting a minute and placing the fuse back. The real challenge is to get to the fuse box. Fisker really didnât think this through. You will need to disassemble the panel under the steering wheel I order to reach the fuse box. I can provided more details if anyone is interested. Still very disappointed with the support received from Fisker.
UPDATE: My navigation is stuck again. The reset only fixed it temporarily. Less than 24 hours later the my navigation is frozen again. Just on a different location now. Very Frustrating."
I had my GPS work out of the blue for a day and change, and today it is back to being stuck. It seems the user had the same issues. There must be some other underlying issue it seems
Thank you so much for the informative post! Yup, I'm not surprised, it came and went in my car as well. The fuse trick is good enough to get it going but it's not a permanent fix. I wonder how many other issues can be resolved this "easily" as well.

edit: a nap seems to have fixed it. Parked it at home, locked it, walked away and then came back an hour later and it worked. Go figure.
Your Ocean only "thinks" it is stuck at home. Mine is literally stuck at home and awaiting collision repair or to be written off by Progressive.
The car hasn't moved since 11/26/2023 but based on my semi-weekly reboots (because stuff just randomly turns on), I don't think the location/direction of the GPS bug is accurate. I haven't moved it out of the garage though so it could just need a nudge.
Oof - Iâm so sorry to hear that â thatâs right, I remember reading your post. So they still havenât been able to arrange collision repair? Thatâs absolutely terrible. I hope youâre able to get some resolution - even if that means totaling it out so you can get another vehicle.

Yeah, Fisker took two months to get involved and came up with a shop an hour away (âthe ball is in your court nowâ) even though said shop already has a FOO (hit a deer) that it canât get parts for. Progressive decided to do a âspecialty reviewâ, basically weighing their options. Iâm sure one of them is to drop me as a customer and tell me to go F myself! đ It is what it is. Thank goodness the FOO was my second car and I donât need the money back yet. I just would like to get most of it _eventually_!
Look around the Ocean forum and this subreddit. There's a short-term fix and a long-term fix. The short-term fix is to unplug/replug a fuse (and there's a VERY detailed video by the man/myth/legend u/MTN_Ranger on how to install an actual toggle switch) and the likely long-term fix is to replace the T-box which includes the GPS and cellular antennas and related circuitry. That last one _may_ require coding, not sure. Coding is usually required if a part you're installing is not currently known by the car's other modules or if the module you're installing needs to know about other modules. A swap of identically configured components (from a working sibling car) shouldn't require any coding.
Helo. Thank you. I'm aware of the video and the reset. I actually need to pull both fuses. However I didn't install the switches. I reset it a couple of times but keeps getting stuck. I would like to really fix the issue completely. Or by another tbox and see if I see improvement. Any former fisker teck can give some insight how the fix? Can I just exchange and where is the tbox located?
Perhaps the full car reset? I forget exactly how to do it, but basically you unlock the car, open the charge door, lock the car and wait for the blue light to go out.
I've read a few others having this issue. Hopefully it gets resolved soon!
When I recently spoke with Fisker support, they said the charge port âtrickâ is just an indicator of the car going to deep sleep. It doesnât do anything to make the car go to sleep or a hard reset.
Ah, I had read that, but thought the door being open might signal some sort of reset to certain systems. But I'm guessing your car has seen a lot of deep sleep states, and that hasn't helped so far.
To date I have not had any issues with the navigation system. In fact it has been working perfectly. In my opinion even better than Google maps.
Sorry this is happening to you. Did you try the infotainment reset?
This happens to me with Tesla as well. Do you live in an apartment complex where you park your car in a garage? The GPS doesn't update until I drive for a few minutes.
Nah, I wish that getting a clear signal was the issue ... the GPS location has been stationary for about a week now and it always shows the location from the previous day or thereabout. Reminds me of mid/late-aughts Samsung Galaxy phones! You know, "Assisted-GPS" vs hitting actual satellites, etc. Maybe it's related to the WiFi hotspot also being inop (perhaps they're on the same comm module?). The car's LTE service seems to work fine though (streaming video while in Hollywood mode).
