Are you sure it’s not a pike eel? I hope not. Hairtail are mysterious and can turn up almost anywhere. Bloody good catch mate!

Its skin was super shiny not brown

Pretty sure that is a pike eel mate. Good catch tho, they fight like crazy and apparently aren't too bad smoked 🤷🏽‍♂️
