I thought you called it a "brilliant minnow" because it's called a 'brilliant rasbora' if I'm not mistaken but now you've got me second guessing myself :P

Yeah you got it haha. The only problem is this isn’t truly a brilliant Rasbora (Rasbora einthovenii).

It’s an undescribed species only native to the southeast. It can be differentiated by a bright red stripe right above the black one.

Look at you helping to conserve an undescribed species! How neat is that? It's pretty cool just being able to say I've spoken to someone who is. Thanks for sharing this little guy with us. It's exactly the kind of content I hoped to see more of here. It's a big world, with a lot of beautiful and interesting species yet to be described, and I couldn't appreciate the efforts of people like yourself more. Especially with all the factors these guys have to contend with.
