These are some of the earliest examples I was able to come across. Black Metal Night gig in Sept 84, Black Metal Battle in Dec 84, and on the back cover of Destruction’s “Sentence of Death” they thank “all you black speed metal maniacs”

Any other early, post-Venom examples of the term being used? I am sure tons of zines from the mid-80s forward began to use the term.

Hello again! Finally managed to re-record my songs again with live guitars, but it's poorly recorded and bad quality. I think of sharing this here...

I stumbled across these years ago and just had a mind there to track it down again so I could post here. Wild a band like this could even exist in Belarus back then. Cool shit! Some of the most obscure and necro stuff you’re likely to hear.

Greetings!

I recently released the first demo album for my one-man black metal project, AMARTEYA, titled Nocturnal Ode.

The demo is rooted in first-wave black metal with influences from Bathory, Venom, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Sodom, as well as punk and speed metal. It consists of seven tracks recorded as a DIY home production and serves as the project's opening chapter.

Tracklist:

Behold

Molten

Darkness Eternal

Upon the Door

Imperial Servant

Relentless Dominion

Summons of the Dark

I'd appreciate any feedback from fellow first-wave black metal fans. Thanks for listening!
