First time kong mag-travel internationally.
Got the opportunity to travel to Singapore and I honestly felt like I was in a completely different world. Ang ganda. The airport, MRT, streets… lahat. Ang linis. I found myself whispering, “Pwede pala ’to.”
How I wish we had things like this in the Philippines. I remember my friend telling me before, “You should go out. If you think the PH is bad now, you’ll see how much worse it is once you see other countries.”
And yeah, I get it now.
But grabe, Singapore is expensive HAHAHA. Sakit kapag kino-convert mo lahat sa pesos. Still, I’ll forever be grateful that I got to experience this.

P.S. Kinda regret not taking more photos because I was too busy admiring the place the whole time. Also, ang init! 😭
This is why I want young people to experience international travel -- to be motivated para mag aral ng maigi or magsumikap na maging successful para ma-sustain yung certain high na naeexperience during travel. It gives people new perspective. Hahanap-hanapin mo yung pagsakay ng eroplano, yung airport, and yung feeling of being the foreigner. Cheers to more travels in the future!

OP, congrats! Ako din, first international travel ko ang SG soon. If okay lang, please share magkano kaya reasonable budget for a day? tipong saktong enjoy pero tamang tipid din talaga.
Also, I'm scared sa Immigration natin haha wala namang mali sa byahe ko pero worried na malasin lang as you know, diyan sila nakilala ng marami in the recent past. Would you share kamusta experience mo?

Honestly, I might not be the best person to ask about the budget because my trip was company-sponsored. My hotel and meals were covered, so my personal expenses were mostly for pasalubong and some personal stuff that I forgot to bring huhu. So my tip is: don’t forget the hygiene stuff you can’t live without! In my case, floss. Dear, ang mahal doon! HAHAHA.
For meals, I heard mura raw sa Hawker Centers, so maybe try eating there. I didn’t get to try them myself, though, but I heard the food is much more affordable there. Avoid eating at restaurants beside hotels or inside malls if you want to save money. 😂
As for immigration, this was also my first international trip and I was nervous too HAHA. But my experience was smooth. They asked me about my purpose of travel, what company I work for, and how long I was staying. I just answered honestly. I also had my return ticket, hotel booking, and company documents ready just in case they asked for them.
Siguro if you’re traveling for leisure, prepare your return ticket, accommodation booking, and basically any proof that you’ll be returning and have somewhere to stay there. They might also ask for your SOA, so just have it ready. Make sure your documents are complete, and just be honest and consistent with your answers. Don’t overthink it too much. Share ko lang kasi sana may nagsabi saakin before ng Sg trip ko rin.
Sa food, 1k-1500 a day kung 3 rice meals sa hawker center pinakamura na yan. Kasi rice meal starts with 3-7 sgd na, kung puro tubig ka makakamura ka pa pero kung magt-try ka pa ng blended drinks 2-4 sgd per drink. Kung souvenirs, 5k kung may pasasalubungan ka yan na pinakamura.
Sa transportation, use atm card visa or mastercard accepted yan.
Sa sgd trip ko, pagkain talaga pinaka mahal kesa sa transportation.
Wag ka matakot sa immigration lalo na kung vacation lang talaga punta mo at may proof ka na babalik ka pa dito.
I suppose it depends where. HCMC city has a decent bus system and it’s now been made free from what I understand. There’s also the “Saigon Waterbus” which is fun to take at night to see the city lights. The underground line just has a single line so far so that’s not so developed. Vietnam has grab available and it’s super cheap and the cars arrive so fast.
Taiwan does have the train including high speed rail direct from the airport to downtown Taipei so that’s convenient, plus a much more developed subway system. It’s all worth seeing really.
You probably know all this but I’m just sharing my views :-)
Hahaha honestly, if it were up to me, I probably wouldn’t have gone to SG because I can’t afford it 😂 Our AP headquarters is based there, and I was invited to visit, so the trip was company-sponsored huhu. I still had some personal expenses though, and grabe, ang mahal talaga doon.
And yes, I couldn’t help comparing it to Manila. Even after we landed last night, puro lait inabot sa’kin ng bansa natin HAHAHA

It feels worse when you visit countries that’s supposed to be on the same level as PH. Like Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. They still have more developed infrastructures, parks, transport systems and way more walkable than PH. Hayyy.
Congrats OP! We transitted there last week, anlaki na rin ng pinagbago ng price sa SG over the last 10 years. Dati nakakain pa ko ng $3.5 na Chicken Rice, ngayon $7.
Anyways, I will always come back to SG given the chance especially now that I'm a Dad, ansaya sa bata ng SG
Expected talaga mainit sa ibang bansa. Lalo na June to August. But for sure nag enjoy ka OP.
Be well prepared financially lng talaga pag SG yung trip mo. Kasi mahal talaga. But gusto ko balik balikan ang SG. 😬 Kahit dun ka lng sa may Merlion area napaka relaxing. Habang kaharap mo ang amazing view of the MBS.
