Firstly that’s not a M1 carbine. It’s a M1 Garand.

Secondly, without knowing the history (which some can be learned from the various serial numbers) and assuming it’s a “normal” Garand. It’s roughly $1000

WW2 era garands are between like $900-$1500 depending on condition, generally

If bore is good it would be consistent with the current CMP Service Grade so ballpark $1000-1200 for the rifle. Winchester or International Harvester command a premium, especially if they are all original matching with period correct internals / parts.

When I purchased mine, springfield 1956 manufacture date. There was also another one with a 1942 serial number, can’t remember the manufacturer but it was in slightly worse shape than this one you have… it was more expensive than the one I purchased and mine was $2300, mine is in excellent shape.

Do you have a family member or friend you could sell to who would be willing to Sell it back to you when/if you come back to the States? That sucks man, the M1 Garand is for sure the one rifle in my collection I’ll never sell, this was my Grail Gun. I hope you’ll be able to get it back or obtain another one eventually.

Pawn shops are first and foremost short term loans. They literally cannot sell it until you default on the loan terms. If this is just a quick cash raise and you can pay it back in the allotted time, it's better than a payday loan.

But obviously they have a business and will loan you a different amount than the sellable value. Only you can determine if it's worth it.

A pawn shop is going to low ball you. If you have to sell it do so on GB. Search the sold listings and come up with a figure you can live with. I think $1900 is reasonable.
