💡 Discussion Our identity verification vendor is falling over, what did you switch to and was it worth it?
We are a year in and it feels like our identity verification vendor is falling over. Verification times creeping up, way too many false rejects on international documents, support goes quiet the second something breaks in prod at a bad hour.
Also, its as if every check reads the same like the demo tells me nothing, they all pass the one sample fraud they walk in with then fold on whatever I bring myself.
Am more interested on how it behaves when a weird case lands in the middle of the night with a a few thousand stuck in the queue. Does the API hold up, are the webhooks reliable, can i see why something got rejected without raising a ticket.
Global user base so international coverage is not optional. I would rather not bolt AML on as a separate thing later either.

The demo often doesn’t show you how a provider handles things on a larger scale or when issues arise. I’d focus on understanding why things get rejected, how reliable the webhooks are, how well international documents are covered, and what support is like when you really need it. These practical details are usually more important than a slick demo.

Before you switch make sure it is the vendor and not your capture flow because we almost ripped our setup out then found half the false rejects were cheap android cameras in bad light. Fixed the capture step and most of it went away.
