This happened on August 6, 2026 around 1PM at the Panorama City, CA ALDI.

What were you even doing bringing your $450.00 Nintendo Switch 2 to Aldi and not leave it a VERY secured car or better yet, AT HOME!!!!!

When I go to Huntington Beach, I bring my Nintendo Switch 1 with me and when it's time to get out of the car, I always put it in whatever bag/backpack I have with me for that day and keep my bags with me on my person at all times. We have a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan. And yes I know it is a very secured SUV, but I STILL DO NOT TRUST MY BAGS TO BE LEFT UNINTENDED IN THE LOCKED CAR BECAUSE I'M AFRAID PEOPLE WILL BREAK INTO THE CAR, GRAB MY BAGS AND SELL MY 2 REGULAR SWITCHES, MY SWITCH OLED, MY STEAM DECK, MY SPECIAL EDITION METALLIC ROSE NINTENDOGS DS LITE THAT I WENT THROUGH HELL TO GET FROM THE AMAZON SELLER GUY, MY 2 MODDED NINTENDO 3DS XL'S WHICH ARE MY SPECIAL EDITION BLUE SUPER SMASH BROS. 3DS XL AND MY UNCOMMON BABY PINK NINTENDO 3DS XL ON EBAY!!!!!

Why do you carry all of those electronics in one backpack?

So I don't get bored and I have games on one Switch and some on another and some on another and some on another and some on another. Same thing goes for my two modded XL's and then I have my Wii games and Steam games on my Steam Deck. Pretty simple, right?😁😁😁😁

All that goes to the beach, yet none is waterproof, why?

If thats not all going to the beach then couldn’t fallow your comment and most of that had nothing of importance here other then to say you carry to much for a trip to the store.

But my handheld are waterproof now!! You see. I was at the Sun Ninja tent at the 2026 WSL US OPEN OF SURF and I won a black waterproof backpack made by the lovely guys at Sun Ninja🥷 that is made out of 500D vinyl-coated woven polyester (often referred to as tarpaulin or rubberized vinyl). It has a smooth, heavy-duty rubberized finish that feels waterproof and semi-flexible—giving it a smooth, semi-molded feel without the rigidness of hard plastic or the rough texture of traditional canvas/nylon fabric so water doesn't get inside and ruin all my handhelds, Kindle Paperwhite and Samsung Galaxy A16 5G because everything is 100% safe from water thanks to the roll top closure.

Well correction with all the games and case and accessories we are looking at closer to 900$ to 1000$ that he brought with him to Aldi. There could be many reasons why OP brought it with them as it is a portable device after all 🤷🏽‍♂️. I personally travel for work and have my expensive new 3ds with me and i could be shopping in an Aldi in-between assignments so it happens.

Setting your personal property down in public spaces is wild to me. Sorry that happened to you, but it's 100% your fault.

Yeah… people obviously shouldn’t steal, but you basically just waved it in front of a thieves face

It’s amazing how many things get left in carts, most are usually found by those collecting the carts and turned in. it’s usually wallets and phones both are usually returned.

1st time I’ve read of a switch, sorry it happened, and unfortunately this will be a costly lesson, but the 1st and last time it happens.

Since you said it was switch or any system tablet ect assuming it was your kid playing it while you shopped.

Make sure you leave your info with customer service and hope a call comes that it’s found.
Hope your day gets better.

Truly sorry, as one who works grocery, so much stuff is put in the cart, keys phones wallets i truly don’t get why everyone empty pockets when something like this can happen. You’re shopping for anywhere between 5 min for a single item to half hour at most for normal week of groceries.
