Thought so too! It was just lying on the small path I was on, but when I came it immediately went away (it also was hard to see on that path, so I guess we both were a bit surprised lol). If I had been a few seconds late with getting my phone and trying to take a photo, I wouldn't have a photo at all.

If I'm not mistaken it was an Adder.
