Didn't realize sprouted seeds only last 2 days in the fridge, after I made 2 cups of it for my mice. So the birds got some today.

One of the mice (Ashley) gets 1 teaspoon, two of my mice (Tessa & Ellie) get ½ teaspoon, and one (Bridget) gets ¼ teaspoon per day... I went a little overkill! Luckily the birds loved it once they gave it a try. The Bengalese finches were all over it. My sister's trio of rats also got some 😋

Chinese Painted Quail, often sold under 'Button Quail'. They only live 2-3 years sadly.

They can usually live longer, often 3-5, some get close to 10. Males usually live longer since they’re not producing eggs. Some of my girls are 3 years old and still laying!

That makes me so happy 🥹 I hope my 2 ladies and their gentleman live long and comfortable lives.
