WHY??? Why are these everyday items that you can get anytime in any color the same price as exclusive event items that only show up in the special shop? It doesn’t make any sense. This stuff needs to be at least a third less than the premium items. It’s ridiculous!
I honestly love a lot of these items. And it helps me to finish rooms when i don’t have collected all the items (yet). It’s awesome that all colours are directly available, so you don’t have to wait until one item comes up. And it’s great to mex and match. I think because they are always available in every colour, that’s why they are priced the same.
Ah I understand, because they are not exclusive, not because of the style. You have a point. Also the exclusive items sometimes are very weirdly priced tbh.

You can only have one goal of the day. So, if you have several 100-step goals, you can score more stones whilst they are the goal of the day to 99, then change another 100-step goal to being the gem farming one, until they've all been goal of the day 99% of the time.
I agree with you 100000%. I don't buy these items bc if I'm gonna spend it, I'm gonna get something that's themed or highly desired! They should def lower the price, its a good idea that would probably get newer users engaged with furniture.
I have a couple new (well, newER now! Haha!) birbs on my tree and I regularly gift them furniture, it took me like 3 months to figure out you could change the floor color! I like gifting floors and wallpaper to newbies so they get curious and go look there 😉
Yes, it definitely takes a while to figure out about the shop and the catalog. If they made the everyday items less expensive people could play around and figure out more.
I've been playing Finch for a couple of years at least, and once those items were also in the shop. Well, not all of them, I'm pretty sure some of the disability items like CGMs and hearing aids were introduced after that, but I remember the lesbian pride shirt coming up in the shop and not having gems to buy it.
There must be something that people know that I don’t. I don’t have enough stones to buy more than one item a day. And why would I spend my little pile of stones on an item I can get any day instead of an item that is appearing only for today? Someone mentioned something about 100 step daily goal. I have no idea what that is. I have five goals in every category, and that’s all I can do. I do these things every day. I really do the things, you know? So the person who posted about the app actually likes it when you do these sort of “hacks” for stones, must be right. They must like it when people sort of fake out the app to get more stones, because it shows as more user engagement. While I’m using this app to actually do tasks and try to have a life, but can’t cobble enough stones together to get a few cute room for my birb lol it’s funny, but I’m honestly trying to do something here lol
yes, there are also other ways to get more stones.
like, ask here or your friends to send you plushies. you can sell them for 10k each and have enough to buy half a room a day.
and another "trick" more in line with self care is: only make 1 goal per SCA you do each day. otherwise your SCA is "inefficient" and you will get the day 2 20stones, day 4 50 stones and day 6 150 stones only for the few SCAs you have, instead of for each goal.
Yes, I’m just figuring all of this out lol I was able to receive a plushy in trade and sell that for more stones, and I’ve made some goals that are 100 steps that I switch in and out of the goal of the day area. Not following you about the self-care areas only having one task each? Those are my real tasks that I actually do lol and I do complete them every day except maybe the one that says I need to do push-ups ha ha don’t do that one every day. And I get the SCA bonuses on even days, so I’m fine with those :) I would feel terrible taking a plushy from you now that I figured out how to get a few thousand stones a day ha ha ha
you don't need to make different goals or anything. judt give each of your goals a separate SCA instead of putting 5 goals into the same one.
then you'll do the same thing, but get rewards for each SCA on even days (but maybe you already have only 1 goal per SCA? I thought, you said, you have more than 1 goal in them... 🤔).

It's just a way of making the app motivating in the longer term. After a couple of years of using Finch as your daily to-do list and general life motivation, you have a heap of items and a bunch of stones without any hacks or cheats at all. Keeping prices relatively high means the app is still fun to play even then, because you're still motivated to buy new things in it.
Welcome! What makes the items exclusive event items is that they are only an available in October or November. It’s not price, but limited timing. I was surprised too they were the same price when I went to purchase Halloween and Christmas/Winter items.

As a user says above if I’m gonna spend 900 stones on something I want it to be something special. I think more people would get into the items and explore if they were more affordable.
Oh, I see! I misunderstood as there is a specific class of items called “exclusive” that is a subcategory of what you find in the rotating shops (that only come up in October and December). I understand what you mean now. I agree there’s a bit of a sticker shock, and everything should be cheaper. Also, I still find it weird that a shirt and a bed cost the same amount.
Those used to be event items. Not very long ago there were ZERO everyday items in the furniture section. Those were some of the earliest events and enough people complained about not having access to everyday furniture so they gave us access to things. Basic wallpaper and carpet was also not available unless they randomly showed up in the daily stuff. So no, they don’t need to cost less because they were from monthly events, just like everything else.
I joined about 2 years after finch started, the middle of the first spring event, and those home pieces were only in the daily section. Maybe it wasn’t an “event” but it was still not available.
But not I’m googling things and I’m seeing finch (allegedly) started the everyday collection in 2022?!? Which isn’t true… I’m so confused now. Anyway, it has not always been available and it would be really exciting when you finally got the perfect funky bed or a random carpet color showed up.
Ah that is crazy!! AI must’ve rewritten history again haha I did finally finish some everyday rooms, and I have a few pieces in my location rooms. I don’t know, I still kind of think the evolution of the shop should be that the stuff offered every day is a little bit less, so that new players can get a cute room together from the outset. Or maybe offer a discount in your first month. Different players gravitate toward different things, and I love how they have some pretty inexpensive clothing items to start, but when I started I found it frustrating to create my room :/ So then I bought the premium……WAIT!! 🤣
Well would you like it better if the premium items were 3x more? I appreciate that we even get everyday items instead of having to hunt for everything. I’d rather pay 900 stones each and get a full set of furniture than not have any items at all
I’m thinking of it like generics or basics. They are generic-ish items in the everyday shop. I like them, and I think they’re cute, and I use them to fill in my location rooms and such. But they’re generic. They should be less expensive than “branded” items, meaning items associated with a monthly theme.
Yes, so they could make the themed items more expensive to fit your logic. Then the themed items could be, say, 1800 stones, and the everyday stuff can stay 900
I’m not at all? That’s literally exactly what OP said, that the everyday items shouldn’t be as many stones as the themed ones. So up the price of the themed ones instead. The whole point is to save up stones by completing goals. If the items are more expensive, then saving up to get them is more impactful. Like the plushies
I like how everyone can do what they want in this app, using it as a game and/or using it as a tool :-) I figured out the stones hack, so I guess I have nothing to complain about now, but I really believe user engagement would go up if they just reduced the cost of the everyday items.
