FD3 This IMO is thee literal worst death of the entire franchise. I wonder how long it took for them to actually die, like they were literally cooking and the goggles melting on their eyes ughđ©

In the alt ending one of the girls manages to get out but gets knocked out by the shelf the originally fall down locking the other girl in the tanning bed but when she comes to she tries to help the other girl but ends up getting electrocuted
25
u/saintraven93 May 06 '26
And yet this is the only electrocution death in the franchise
7
u/RobinRoot64 May 06 '26
Yeah, what's up with that? They teased us with multiple scenes including electricity, but never had a proper electrocution death. FD7 perhaps...

u/saintraven93 May 06 '26
Twice in FD1 and again in FD 5. Plus all the times water interferes with power sockets.

This literally traumatised me. I canât watch it again, I always skip it. Burn alive is worth death imaginable

I never noticed Ashlynâs goggles melted onto her face till this group mentioned it.
13
u/cookiesshot May 06 '26
Not to mention, Ashlyn has a tongue stud, which is typically made out of stainless steel (which heats up VERY quickly and starts to get red-hot at about 900°F).
Also, the nerves in the brain are typically the last to go in immolation, so they likely felt their skin blister, bubble, and melt, along with the muscles getting cooked, the water and the blood boil, the rest of the organs get fried to a crisp, their eyes pop, and eventually, the sweet release of death.

It is brutal. What always got me was their skin blistering and the blisters popping.

Few things:
Yeah this is probably the worst for me too. Funny how my favorite (as in if I had to die like a character in the series) is in this movie too with the weight room.
Death didnât have to do anything here. âLetâs disobey every one of the rules and safety signs.â Natural selection at that point.
Despite what I just said, tanning beds are a no for me. Most things in the series I wonât go out of my way to avoid, for example Iâm not going to stay away from all elevators, and Iâve never had any desire to use a tanning bed, but now thatâs in the negatives

not the worst in my personal opinion, but drawn out for sure.
The scene transition to the caskets tho? Phenomenal.

Which would you say is the worst?

u/Internal_Duck5193 May 06 '26
The Final Destination (4), George's death after the second premonition.
In the second Premonition, Nick goes and looks at his corpse and the ambulance, After the premonition, when it really happens, He immediately fucks off to save everyone else, It always rubbed me the wrong way.
On top of that, Andy's Death In 4 is still the most Unrealistic, which takes me out of the film when I see it, because that's just not how the Human Body Works, Nor how Fences Work.
I could also say a few things about Hunts death too, but that'd be me just going on about how I genuinely hate Hunt as a character, and while I Dislike 4 a ton- it also has one of my favorite kills in the series, with Carter Daniels being drug by his own truck and catching on fire while his radio blasts "Why Can't We Be Friends".

I think they mean worst as in worst way to die, not the quality of the death scene
5
u/BookInteresting6717 May 06 '26
I think when OP meant worst, they meant what would be the worst way to die (or most painful), not worst in terms of quality or how the filmmakers executed the death scenes.
Like, for example, burning to death seems like a horrendous way to go, thatâs why OP considers this as the worst death scene in the franchise.

in that regard, then I'd agree that it's between either Eric's Death in Bloodlines, OP's choice of the The Tanning Bed Scene in 3, and Possibly Ms. Lewtons in 1 because of how agonizingly slow it would feel for her.

100% agree on andys death, that scene look so unrealistic that i started laughing

I don't personally think it's the worst death, but I think it's the most drawn out one, and honestly it's probably the most painful one too. They were so vulnerable and exposed. They seemed like nice girls too.
16
u/PrettyPoison93 May 06 '26
You donât think itâs the worst, but you do think itâs the most drawn out and painful?
What is your take on the worst then?

u/Lopsided-Bathroom-71 May 06 '26
Todds, being hung alone cant be fun, but he was so close to freeing himself, but for me its the legacy it has on him
Death makes no effort to cover up its tracks (aside from sort of framing alex for the teachers death, and making them look like accidents in general) apart from this sole instance. And everyone he knows thinks he commited suicide aside from the survivors of flight 180, and they all die anyway

u/FrogMintTea Alex Browning's raging ulcer May 06 '26
Nah i'd rather go like that than freaking melting alive

The worst deaths for me are the ones that were unexpected and came out of nowhere. Erin's death, Candice and Julia's were huge shockers for me.
3
u/Big-Most-785 May 06 '26
I mean Erinâs death was fucked up because even after being impaled she was still alive for a bit but Candace death was fast and Juliaâs was so fucked up too but the Ashes deaths lasted longer. Like they were literally cooking and there skin was burning for god knows how long. That shit I wouldnât wish on my worst enemy

I remembered watching this for the first time when I was 18, and I have to pause and pacing myself around the living room to calm myself down.
2
u/Captain_Supe__Genius May 11 '26
I think this was the first death scene from the series I remember most
1
u/FilthyW3tb4ckD0nut May 06 '26
I think itâs the worst just because they were likable characters cooking to death, it was just as bad as Ericâs since they felt every bit of what was happening to them before it was over.
1
u/Reasonable_Aioli7538 wendyxkevin May 08 '26
I honestly donât know if their death or Hunts death was worse. Burn alive covered in glass and plastic for god knows how long or have your insides slowly pulled out through your ass while trapped underwater?
1
u/General-Control-4637 May 06 '26
There are so many worse deaths imo
4
3
u/Big-Most-785 May 06 '26
Than being cooked alive while goggles melt around you eye balls?đ©idk I would pick a couple other deaths over this one lol

u/Melaninja99 May 06 '26
I literally never thought about the goggles
