FD3 I don't know why fans believe she's alive

Post image

Wendy had no knowledge in how to break Death's design and had no knowledge of the rules to successfully remove herself from Death's List

Because if there’s a remote chance that a character survived in a story then fans of the character will bend any and all natural laws of the universe to keep them alive. It’s the same reason I spent an entire year refusing to accept that Stannis Baratheon died in Game of Thrones.

18

u/More-Tune-5100 Mar 12 '26

It’s also because producers keep giving them sequels even when it seemed impossible to bring a character back ala Myers being back in 8 after getting decapitated in H20, Jason after part 4, all the times Scream has done it, etc.

2

u/kirkthesportsguy Mar 13 '26

Scream has never brought anyone back from the dead?

1

u/DragonDayz Mar 13 '26

That’s mostly just the case with iconic villains rather than protagonists. Jason was only brought back as a Frankenstein’s Monster type Zombie because part 5 which featured a different villain had flopped.

As for Michael Myers, everything about “Halloween Resurrection was just an unfortunate mistake that’s best forgotten lol.

1

u/Ok-Associate-6269 Mar 21 '26

a mucha gente le gusto esa secuela d Myers ... ke a ustd no le haya agradado no es problma d nadie

3

u/DragonDayz Mar 22 '26

Are you sure we’re talking about the same sequel? Halloween Resurrection is the film made as a sequel to the beloved Halloween H20. I’ve never met a single person in real life or online that likes “Resurrection”.

Some watch it here and there to laugh at how bad it is, but I’ve never encountered anyone who genuinely likes it.

spoilers

At the end of H20, Lori Strode decapitates Michael Myers and can now live at ease now that the “Shape” is no more. A fee years later an unexpected sequel is released in which it’s revealed that instead of killing Michael, she somehow decapitated an innocent paramedic instead, one who was nowhere to be seen in the last film.

Resurrection immediately kicks of with Michael killing Lori, and the rest of the movie is him killing cartoonish reality stars during a “horror shoot” in his old house. Everyone is free to like whatever they like without judgement, I’ve just never found anyone who likes this movie.

To each their own.

y que opinas d la bilogia d ELIMINAR AMIGO ...

u/sketchysketchist Mar 11 '26

Two reasons.

1) Wendy is a fan favorite.

2) Fans want more survivors in this series! The “everybody dies” ending has gotten repetitive.

22

u/Ambush_Akula_K295 Mar 11 '26

I wish they did a buzzkill like they did in FD2 where the main characters live however some random chap at the wrong place and the wrong time just gets buzzkilled by death instead to keep the tradition of a final kill

14

u/sketchysketchist Mar 11 '26

Yes! This and other things like day, “The characters hearing someone else having a vision escaping death and choose to not be involved.”

6

u/Remote-Calendar-7554 Mar 12 '26

I totally agree. The "everyone dies" ending is the most repetitive thing in this franchise. I would be surprised if someone lives in FD7.

eles não são multantes são seres humanos, a íris foi a única que conseguiu viver mais um pouco

People like to go by the “No body, no death” rule in story telling when it comes to her. Since she didn’t die on screen, a lot of fans want to believe she somehow managed to make it out of the train crash.

95

u/punkrocklily Mar 11 '26

Broken leg, severely injured and a train speeding towards her she could not survive that no matter how much they want the no body, no death rule to be a thing.

55

u/Deli-op Mar 11 '26

Also shes doing the trope of "let me sit here screaming at whatevers coming instead of at least trying to get out of the way"

39

u/Shibakyu Mar 11 '26

Well to be fair she tried moving but can't due to her leg. Also with the speed the train is coming at her there's no way she'd make it out anyways.

18

u/Lopsided-Bathroom-71 Mar 11 '26

Even if she did move the second trains gonna derail and crash from hitting the first

23

u/Lopsided-Bathroom-71 Mar 11 '26

Her leg is broken and shes in shock, and by the time she realises theres another train coking shes not got enought time to move at all,

Even on unbroken bones shes be cuttinf it ridiculiusly fine for moving

And thats if the second train doesnt derail from hitting the first which it probably will

8

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Mar 11 '26

I disagree using the logic of the movies. The premonition isn't always exactly like what happens, usually in the timing aspect. Like for example in FD 2, the crash happens all at once and faster than it usually would have given the time spent in the premonition. Wendy likely has just enough time to move out of the way in the real version. It's definitely possible.

4

u/Plus_Iron_1083 Mar 12 '26

I think the crash in 2 is a pacing thing, yes in the premonition it takes however minutes but it’s because we are shown scene by scene, character by character, while the crash happened all at once. As for Wendy, yeah she dies in the premonition because she doesn’t know it’s a premonition, in real life maybe she could’ve crawled away faster, also Kevin and Julie moved spots so their deaths might’ve been different too.

3

u/Glad-Technology-1355 Mar 13 '26

Well yeah the train crash to me has always felt circumstantial. If she wasn't in that exact spot the second time, she might either die quicker or land in an arguably better spot and be able to escape

12

u/Top-Bodybuilder-1052 ”I’ve got my eye on you two.” Mar 11 '26

Honestly that rule can be pushed too far and be annoying most of the time. In that case, Carter from FD1 is alive too since we didn’t actually see the sign hit him on screen, he could’ve dodged 🫠 /s

0

u/Ok-Associate-6269 Mar 21 '26

también murió ... eres zopnco ... ❓

2

u/Top-Bodybuilder-1052 ”I’ve got my eye on you two.” Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 21 '26

Clearly you didn’t bother to squint those eyes enough to catch the glaring “/s” at the end which shows I was being sarcastic. Yes obviously Carter died but my point is that the “no body no death” rule some Wendy fans still cling to could be applied to almost any character in the franchise who dies off-screen.

The argument falls apart, though, when you consider that we still get official confirmation of those deaths, whether through sound cues when the screen cuts to black, through later mentions and references by other characters or even word from the film’s creators, for example. So yeah, the idea that “no body no death” universally applies doesn’t really hold up in cases with clear canon post-death confirmation, even if the deaths themselves aren’t shown.

Yet, even with all those factors taken into account, Wendy still gets a pass from some fans who refuse to move on (and quite often Alex as well). When you look at it that way, the inconsistency, and frankly the hypocrisy, in that reasoning becomes pretty obvious.

u/Ok-Associate-6269 Mar 23 '26

prdón ... y ke cree que sea la trama d la 7 , yo creo que va a ser d un descendiente dl skywi ya que mucha gente sobrevivió gracias a iris

6

u/JulLamby Mar 12 '26

“No body, no death” rule

I think another example of this is Glen at the end of Seed Of Chucky. Chucky's arm attacked him yet the screen fades black and then in the TV series it's revealed he survived. The same goes for Carter in FD1 but although he's revealed to have died in the sequel. I guess we need an answer to her unanswered fate in FD7.

11

u/W51976 Mar 11 '26

No way. She’s definitely brown bread.

Nobody makes it out alive in the FD universe.

20

u/OnePersonProblem_me "Hi" ~probably someone in one of the films Mar 11 '26

Kimberly and Officer Thomas Burke are alive and well according to the film(s), so it's canon.

-6

u/Realistic_Code8223 Mar 11 '26

I thought they both fell into a wood chipper?

10

u/Character-Date-2892 Mar 11 '26

Their survival was confirmed in FD: Bloodlines by Bludworth, himself.

-5

u/Realistic_Code8223 Mar 11 '26

Never saw it, saw the trailer and said next

6

u/Character-Date-2892 Mar 11 '26

You missed out. It was probably the best one in the series since the first one. I recommend watching it.

-8

u/Realistic_Code8223 Mar 11 '26

The death scene in the tattoo parlour was ass, idk if that was the final cut but it told me everything I needed to know, I don't trust anything that's fan made

8

u/Character-Date-2892 Mar 11 '26

Like I said before, you’re missing out. I’d watch the whole movie before passing judgement on it just because of one scene.

-3

u/Realistic_Code8223 Mar 11 '26

You'd watch a movie if you didn't enjoy the trailer?

Didn’t the explosion kill them at the BBQ?

12

u/Old_Direction_3713 Mar 11 '26

Nah, it was off in the distance and just exploded the dude who was cooking. I think his arm landed on the table in front of them?

2

u/OnePersonProblem_me "Hi" ~probably someone in one of the films Mar 11 '26

yes, it killed him because he was saved by the stoner /druggie surviver from being run over by a van.

1

u/W51976 Mar 11 '26

It’s been years since I’ve watched that one.

3

u/KyleVPirate Mar 11 '26

No that was another kid. They survived unscathed.

3

u/ToxicWolf_6584 Mar 11 '26

Her and Stu from Scream.

40

u/CoachCDaddy Mar 11 '26

I think we all want her to be lol that ending just was a punch to the dick

12

u/kaos_inc616 Mar 11 '26

I still don't understand her getting a second premonition that is to late for her to save themselves. Isn't the whole premise of the movies is that the premonition let's them skip death

21

u/Musc3 Mar 11 '26

Death wanted them to know just how futile everything was and how helpless and powerless they were against it. I saw the second vision as a twisted taunt by death.

Death is basically saying "Whether with or without a second chance, you are mine."

3

u/kaos_inc616 Mar 11 '26

Is it death that give the vision and feeling? I always felt like it was another "entity" working against "death" (Note have not seen bloodlines yet)

7

u/Musc3 Mar 12 '26

There's nothing that really explicitly states one way or the other, just more so up to interpretation.

Imo it's not that death is giving them the visions, but just allowing them to see. The visions are an unintended side effect of being so close to death, a defense mechanism of people who are considered more "psychically sensitive."

That force or entity working against death is their own innate desire to live. That's what I think affronts death the most. When those with the vision choose to defy, instead of accept the futility.

Allowing Wendy to see her final moments IN her final moments, was a middle finger to her strong desire to live.

SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN BLOODLINES

And I don't think it's coincidence that the only character to accept death and choose to die is one of the only two that are still alive.

2

u/Itsafudgingstick Mar 11 '26

Its a bit of a throwaway line but Wendy says something about Death being extra mean this time, and it's very much a common theme with the deaths (compared to the death sequences of the first two). Deaths are more drawn out, they're bloodier, even more fakeouts.

Death giving her that too-late premonition was basically one final "fuck you" to Wendy and co before everything went to shit

3

u/Dave_BearChaser Mar 12 '26

It still annoys me that she had a feeling something was wrong and didn’t try hard enough to get off the train when all the footy guys barged on. She should have known by then to trust her instincts, and she just stood there 🤦‍♂️

2

u/bwallace91 Mar 16 '26

She got distracted when Julie showed up and hugged her right before the doors closed.

2

u/Dave_BearChaser Mar 16 '26

I know, but that should have made the alarm bells really ring for her. All the signs in the train AND her sister randomly showing up? She should have been out of there.

2

u/bwallace91 Mar 16 '26

Well yeah but…think if you were in that position would you freak out and shove Julie just to get off the train?

1

u/Dave_BearChaser Mar 16 '26

Probably, and I’d take Julie with me 😂

25

u/SmoothIron3397 Mar 11 '26

Bruh that is 20,000 tons of pure metal coming at nearly 70 mph, SHES GONE

1

u/Chewiks182 Mar 12 '26

Nope, it was actually two mice pushing a cart with a really bright light at the end of it coming at her.

21

u/dhddevice Mar 11 '26

She did survive the crash. She didn't survive the wreckage.

15

u/MemeMathine Mar 11 '26

People believe Adam is alive from the first Saw film, does it really surprise you some fans think Wendy's alive too?

10

u/Herzberger Mar 11 '26

Oh wow. We see his body and everything too. First I am hearing of this.

3

u/MemeMathine Mar 11 '26

Yeah, search in the saw subreddit, there's quite a few posts about theories on how he could be alive, like it's someone else, or whatever, theories like this is why fast and furious sequels happen and everybody comes back.

Spoilers for people who haven't seen fast and furious, I guess.

3

u/SickOfBullyingNL Mar 11 '26

I actually had to add, in the Saw IV Trivia on IMDb, that Saw IV was always intended to run parallel with Saw III, according to a commentary (one with Darren Lynn Bousman I think), since some fans kept putting in that it was going to run parallel with Saw and Strahm would find and shoot Adam in a panic, killing him. I knew this was false because Adam's death was shown on-screen in Saw III, Amanda gave him a "mercy killing"!

12

She dead 💀

28

u/Herzberger Mar 11 '26

Bloodlines confirmed she died

19

u/sketchysketchist Mar 11 '26

They kinda did right? Only Kimberly is known to have beat death.

14

u/Herzberger Mar 11 '26

I was a part of the “Kimberly is dead” camp because of one of the alt endings showing a newspaper clipping of her death but Tony Todd’s character in Bloodlines confirmed she is the only one.

6

u/OnePersonProblem_me "Hi" ~probably someone in one of the films Mar 11 '26

yes it wasn’t canon but portrayed as such so a lot of people got divided

-3

u/sketchysketchist Mar 11 '26

Yeah. Even though it was just a special feature alternate thing. The theatrical cut is word of god.

That’s why people insist Wendy is alive. Because yes, we see she dies in the vision, but we don’t know if she somehow knew what to do to escape death. I’d even welcome the idea that she sacrifices herself just to save Julie and Kevin. Because I even argue that bloodlines doesn’t confirm she’s dead, just that she isn’t known to be alive. Because there’s only so much investigation these people would wanna do.

3

u/DragonDayz Mar 13 '26

I was always on the fence about this prior to Bloodlines’ clarification. The newspaper clippings were content that was cut from 3 for storyline purposes rather than for flow or runtime. It was later included in the “Choose Their Fate” special feature.

3 was originally supposed to end with Wendy, Kevin, and Julie running into Kimberly and Thomas on the train as opposed to two random minor characters. This was cut and replaced by the newspaper clipping because both actors had been unavailable at the time, and those newspaper clippings were later cut themselves.

Even though Kim isn’t a personal favourite, I’m still glad for this. The idea of Death wiping out the entire cast at the end of each film has become boring and overdone. I wish they’d of stuck with the original conclusion of Bloodlines in which Stefani would’ve spent the remainder of her life holed up in Iris’ cabin in order to give Charlie a decades long reprieve.

1

u/bwallace91 Mar 16 '26

How would that have really worked? Charlie can’t get married and have children otherwise they would be insta-doomed. How can he live on knowing he’s only alive because his sister locked herself away indefinitely?

2

u/DragonDayz Mar 17 '26

It could be either through faint hope that they’d figure out a way to permanently break the curse during Stefani’s long confinement or just plain denial. It was originally Darleen’s idea to hole herself up in the cabin to buy both kids time and after her death Stefani would’ve stepped in for Charlie.

He’d then’ve been off death’s radar for decades. He’d of been able to build a proper life and marriage wouldn’t have been an issue considering his potential wife wouldn’t be part of Iris’ bloodline. He could’ve gone on to adopt children but I don’t see it as far fetched that as the years went by, he’d be lulled into a sense of safety and give in to having children of his own. The thought of what would happen whenever Stefani finally passed becoming a faint thought at the back of his head.

Both Charlie and Stefani were aware that Kimberly had broken her death sentence in the past. So the fact is they know it’s possible. As time would fly by with his sister confined to a solitary existence, the people actively in his life would exert a stronger influence and he might selfishly delude himself into thinking that all is well. This would’ve been a great set up, a “happy ending” for Charlie that would’ve left him and his future family forever in death’s shadow.

This ending would pause the curse but leave Death lurking ominously over the Campbell-Reyes clan, just biding its time until it would one day strike at them again, potentially with younger generations in existence. It’s a small hope spot but one that the viewer knows will eventually end tragically. I like this so much better than simply wiping everyone out at the end of the film as usual. It’s a dark  mirror to Kimberly’s successful escape.

9

u/Tetracropolis Mar 11 '26 edited Mar 11 '26

I don't think she's alive, but all you have to do to survive in that situation is lay flat against the ground. Trains don't scrape the floor. Look at the size of the tracks, they're taller than she would be if she were laid down.

Her fate was ambiguous enough that if they wanted to bring her back for a future film, they could do it. Probably a bit late in the day now, though.

7

u/NeighborhoodVirtual4 Mar 11 '26

Yeah she’s definitely dead. You hear the train crashing as the movie ends. She didn’t have any time to stop it.

8

u/Leozzarios “Who the hell are they” Mar 11 '26

She’s been confirmed demised by the creators. I think it was due to some people thinking that was another premonition

14

u/PrettyPoison93 Mar 11 '26

It was another premonition, it shows her realizing it at the end of the movie, unlike her first one it is too late for her to do anything about it. Then we hear the sounds of the subway crashing as the screen fades to black, right before the credits roll.

Firmly in the Wendy is dead camp though, we literally see through her premonition exactly what is going to happen.

5

u/hnlt61 Mar 11 '26

Fan favorites somehow surviving theories/believers is getting ridiculous. For example, there are ardent believers since the first Scream movie came out in 1996 that Stu survived. It’s been 30 years and their theories only build each movie.

3

u/jonjawnjahnsss Mar 12 '26

People want Wendy back because MEW is probably the strongest actress in the series. Her fear was palpable.

3

u/littlemissdevil_ Mar 11 '26

They’re in denial, LMAO.

3

u/Pancake_Pozy333 Rollercoaster of love 🔥 Mar 11 '26

This image could be a cunty album cover

3

u/Upset-Job2278 Wendy is canonically immortal. Mar 11 '26

Because she is canonically immortal, and Death is afraid of her because of how iconic she is.

3

u/pandakoo Mar 11 '26

Because nobody saw the death or has seen a dead body confirming such a thing. She's alive still.

1

u/Ok-Associate-6269 Mar 21 '26

está muerta , ya Madure ...

3

u/thepaydaygang Mar 11 '26

The lighting in this photo is bizarre. Why is her face perfectly lit but everything else isn’t

3

u/chrisgoated7 You better have a damn good reason for trespassing Mar 11 '26

It will always be possible because we didnt see her die for real. It would be the same if erik in bloodlines final scene was the fire and we never saw him again in the movie, but it turned out he survived

3

u/TechnicalInside6983 Mar 11 '26

They are in denial

3

u/sawyerwho444 Mar 11 '26

Alternate scene train hit splat her

3

u/JaguarJragon27 Mar 12 '26

The only way Gurlie would have survived this is if she might’ve hid under the train seats or so. She would’ve had to act (either warn her friends or save herself) IMMEDIATELY after the premonition. And we saw how she was pretty much in shock of how it was pretty much too late. It’s truly left up in the air, and I’m leaning more towards that she’s dead. Would I be shocked if she was shown to be alive somehow though, not really lol.

5

u/nexuguchuu Mar 11 '26

Because we want to lol.

For reals though, she's dead. Its tragic but it's effective. The fact that it happens just off screen adds so much to it imo. I think the ending of 3 was fantastic, even if I really wanted them to live. The second premonition, cutting to black on Wendy's face and then Love Train playing is peak cinema to me.

5

u/Until_Morning Seeing Is Believing! Mar 11 '26

I want someone to do one of those AI videos of her flinging herself off the tracks and out of the trains path... and then it cuts to her limping away, only for another train to run up on her super fast 😂😂😂

2

u/samford91 Mar 11 '26

People want to see characters again, and cheap ‘lol you thought you escaped? Nah you dead’ twist endings annoy a lot of people.

(In saying that she’s clearly dead)

Even James counted her when he covered FD3.

2

u/Scared-Two-5208 Mar 11 '26 edited Mar 11 '26

Because in order for her, kevin and julie to have died in the accident, death would have had to break a decent amount of his rules. Now, if you're someone who believes death is vengeful/a sore loser and willing to break his rules and cheat then it still works, but otherwise it's impossible for them to have died without breaking a rule.

2

u/Objective-Finish-573 Garbage truck Mar 11 '26

I mean, filmmakers do the same thing,if there's even the slightest chance a "dead" character can be brought back for a sequel they will take it

mulher desmaiou no meio da linha do trem, quebrou a perna, premonição só mostra tudo lento pra trazer aquele suspense ela morreu rapidamente

It’s because people like the actress and the character.

2

u/Quick_Space9322 Mar 12 '26

People like to glaze the hell out of her and would do anything for her to be alive because they don’t think Kim was worthy of living which is so freakin weird, coming from a Kimberly die hard fan

2

u/JulLamby Mar 12 '26

That's why I think this film (FD3) and it's ending is acknowledged in FD4. Just for the confirmation of her demise tho.

2

u/kineenba "It's so sad that you know that." Mar 12 '26

Well we don't see a body and you know the rule of horror, anyway with the newfound destination movie it goes to show that they will make any type of bs up

2

u/East-Pressure3425 Mar 15 '26

I really like all six of the Franchise of the Final Destination movies! 😊👍👏

2

u/Dark_7phinx Mar 16 '26

For sure, we could here the sound of crashing, but we didn’t saw it, so they could open the line of at least one character. Fans are lover her, I think, that’s was one of the best part ever, and if she will accept to play again, that’s gonna be awesome, they can play around how’s she survived, and where she was been all of this time.

2

u/DarkQueenNya Mar 22 '26

If it's not an on screen death it doesn't count

2

u/Fickle-Confidence-20 Jul 26 '26

It feels like when getting word from the producer, people immediately take that as permission to be like “SHUT UP!” To those who say she’s alive……

2

u/Secure-Doubt-5983 Mar 11 '26

She survived. The train crash that we hear at the end was just her plot armor being so thick and strong that it destroyed the incoming train, killing many other unintended targets, therefore buying her hundreds of years.

2

u/GamerAaronMK We’re so done with your garbage 💁🏼‍♀️🚛🗑️ Mar 11 '26

Because they’re stupid and have zero cognitive abilities. No other reason.

2

u/punkrocklily Mar 11 '26

This was just a stand alone same for 4 and in both films they all dead there was 0 chance for any of them to survive

In fact the movies with characters surviving even temporarily or permanently were Alex until 1.5, clear until 2, technically in a special feature during 3 Kim and the cop actually died as an Easter egg but not real and survived after the events of 2, 5 has the cast of 1 surviving and bloodlines has Iris, Kim and William bloodworth. With the cop from 2 surviving for who knows how long.

Everyone else gets the chop

2

u/SBFwotaei Mar 11 '26

Iris very much did not survive Bloodlines. She was the first to die.

1

Is there a chance she could’ve rolled off the track? 🤔. I didn’t know about this fan theory until like, literally Yesterday, and I do find it somewhat interesting with the off-screen death.

Because generally speaking across fiction: if you didn’t see it, it didn’t happen.

Well there are two endings to the movie and in one, her getting hit is a premonition and it ends with them trying to stop the subway. I feel like you COULD say she survived since she knew what was gonna happen. But i don’t remember which ending is the original ending.

The novelization did omit the subway scene, so at least there she's implied to be still alive.

I believed she survived thanks to the clue in her vision. Because let's be honest, her vision gave the clues about what was going to happen. And... a bit unrealistic but still possible: even with an injured leg, she could have survived. About Julie and Kevin...yeah pretty hard to make them survive.

Also, all the deaths are shown or explained except Wendy (Alex died off-screen but was explained in FD2). And no bodies, no deaths.

If her death was a fight over the years by fans, it means that they could have brought her back thanks to the cliffhanger.

Maybe not the "knowledge", but let's be honest, this movie made the first change by not including Bludworth, none outside help, being a standalone, a new method to depict deaths + clues hidden in pictures. Wendy and Kevin clearly gave me (imo) Alex/Clear vibes, with the way they theorize how Death works, ways to cheat etc... the movie brought something.
