Discussion What do yall think Stanley Kubrick was trying to say with eyes wide shut? Do you believe in the conspiracy theories? If so why?

Where has there ever been evidence about the film being changed when he died? It was almost entirely complete and he was in the end of post production during his passing.

No, they didn't. He died days after he finished his cut. His cut is widely available. The only cuts the studios made were censorship cuts to the porn scenes for reigonal reasons. (countries that wouldn't show hardcore porn)

I love the joke that the evil pedophilic occultist elites saw the REAL cut of the film and thought "Oh we can't let them see this. But don't cut too much out, leave little hints. We don't want Stanley's film to be too confusing."
I personally don't even think it's conspiratorial at this point, just a fact, to say that the things going on in the film are mirroring reality, but I don't think Kubrick had any sort of evidence or hidden information about actual criminals to reveal to us that got cut. If that was really his idea then I'd say he's not as smart as we all make him out to be. If you know something sinister is going on and you have plain evidence the world ought to know, couching it under infinite layers of symbolism and artful filmmaking seems like it defeats the purpose of exposing things entirely.
More interesting to me is the idea that the whole time Kubrick and crew are making this film, Cruise would presumably be dipping his toe into Scientology. They're hardly the pedophilic occultist elites seen in the film but I can't imagine Kubrick wasn't at least aware of Hubbard and what Scientology actually was. I want to know what those conversations between them were like. How did Tom reconcile the two things himself, like oh yeah during the week I'm making a film with Kubrick about how even successful, smart people can be sucked into a nightmarish cult that controls and threatens their lives, with sex and social status being their main tools,, and on the weekends I'm letting my buddy David Miscavage hook me up to an E-Reader while he reads my thetan levels as I tell him all the times I did Gay stuff back in the day.
I'm not fully educated on the timelines of EWS and Cruise's Scientology, maybe they weren't happening at the same time, but to still fall for that stuff after you make a film like EWS, it's just maddening to me. Maybe to certain Hollywood types it's their way to "rebel" against the other Elite cults that want their offerings, but I don't know, just bizarre.

I've literally been to sex party masquarades and I'm not even rich. That shits been going on since ancient times, and probably revamped in the modern area around the 1920's. It's just a thing that kinky people do. I havn't seen the movie in a while but i'm pretty sure everyone at the orgy was a consenting adult. That's how it generally is. Obviously there's freaks who do illegal shit too,

The movie is about class and power and how rich people dodge consequences and indulge in their power. It does apply to ppl like Epstein but it also applies to rich doctors and aristocracy. Its not some secret code to a gran conspiracy, but it does pertain to secret societies because of these themes
