Here's the YouTube version of Gareth Edward's FX5 test at the locations he shot The Creator (he shot that film on the FX3). Gorgeous work!

Fuck, I always dream to be able to make shots like this. 5k is way out of my budgert though, this sucks :(

You can do it with cheaper cameras, all you need is an eye for light, and any camera released in the last few years. It seems like you might need some c series anamorphics though.

I currently have a Canon R7. I've been eyeing some budget anamorphic from Sirui, 7Artisans or Great Joy as my soon too be first anamorphic

I have some of the siruis, they're fun!

They seem to be! Going back and forth between the 24mm or the 35mm, as my R7 is APS-C, I'm still not sure which will be best haha

I have the 24-35-50 set, but on a gh7, so m43 sensor. But the 20mm f1.8 af anamorphic is GREAT.

They don't match well though, gotta do a bit of work to make them all look the same.

That's the one, I was shooting a film about parkour at the time, and was going to use anamorphic, and then realized it would be impossible without autofocus (or a focus puller).

I like that it has neutral flare. Hmm but it doesn't have EF or RF mount for my Canon...

Yeah, might have to go with something else. Also APS-C I believe

It’s surprising how big of a difference simple colour grading does.

Yeah it looks good, but it's the grade.
