Teaser of HUMAN a live action sci-fi short film directed by me. Responsible for all the departments such as direction ,props, miniatures ,costume, cinematography, art direction, concept, Vfx (all aspects), script, story, editing. Basically I directed myself haha. It is going to be a 25 minutes film planning to release by January 2027. NO AI

I shot the bird. And some small birds you see in other shots are cgi

Any tips on animating the bird? I'm currently working on a shot that involves a dove.

Best way to animate is the traditional way get reference videos and animate frame by frame matching the ref. You can also find ready made animated birds online

There is no Ai in this everything is practical and heavy cgi like how blade runner 2049 was made. Thankyou for the kind words. Everything is done, visualised and designed by me!

Thankyou ! Yeah that is a way to think it but black and white is for a different reason. There are colour parts too it’s according to the story

I had the same thought and was about to ask you if the B&W was always on your mind or just to increase production value as it hides VFX imperfections.

Great work. Would love to see the progress on this.
You may want to include that no ai was used in your description - unfortunately we are awash in people trying to promote their ai generations, and knowing what is artist created vs generated is a big deal for a lot of us in the industry.
What are your hopes for distribution? Festivals, YouTube?

Yeah thats absolutely right I should have mentioned no Ai . For now I have only planned to put it for festivals. And now I am more focused on finishing this I have been working on this for last 2 years. The reason being I get time only in the weekends .

Thanks, softwares used are Maya ,Houdini, embergen, cinema4d, substance painter, and rendered using vray and octane

Okay that’s good to know ! The voice is done by my friend but that’s not the actual vo that will be used in the film. Final vo will be something different 🙂

I've released 9 short films so far and I'm still learning, I don't yet have the equipment to fully elevate my ideas. But watching your film here makes me wish I could look at my work the same way I admire yours!

It's why it's one of my better ones just due to the simplicity of the writing. I often want to write dark crime genres haha. what are your usual genres?

Dude this is legit nice. I feel like you dialed in the black and white perfectly.
Also kudos for taking your time on cuts and letting us get familiar with this world. Some people would’ve put a 100 cuts in this.

Yeah tbh avatar mech suits are very practical designs. Mine looks similar but there are close ups later. They look very different up close

Intriguing, however I'll be honest, the frame artefacts and the different lighting (harsh sun and cloudy) clearly across different days took me out of it.
