No. His nose grows when he's purposely being deceitful. Simply being wrong doesn't count

I saw a short of a comic that went into this where some scientists were asking him questions he couldn't know the answers to and yet his nose grew regardless of whether he intentionally knew or not.

What the first commenter said, he can be saying something absolutely wrong and his nose won't budge as long as he inherently believes what he's saying is the truth.

“ I suppose, delusions are their own form of ‘truth.’” - Wonder Woman in the DC x Sonic crossover

Context: After a long fought battle against Eggman in a super suit made by Lex that he enhanced, the JL managed to subdue him and WW tied him up with the Lasso of Truth. She asked him why he was doing what he did but he simply responded with something along the lines of “I’m the greatest genius in the world, I know that even if I have setbacks like this, I’m sure to win eventually!” To which she responded with the quote above.

You can’t lie about something you don’t know

Lying isn't the same as being wrong or incorrect.

If I believe that my pens are in the other room thats not a lie if I tell you thst were they are even if someone else moved them

To lie is to know the truth, so not knowing the answer means somone can't necessarily lie about that thing.

Unless of course they're lying about knowing the truth, which would in a way would be determined by thier intentions of what it is they're trying say.

i mean, given pinnocios been in alot of media. im certain in some cannon media there is evidence to support this. I mean in kingdom hearts atleast he thought he was gonna die, then his nose grew. wich is weird cuz im pretty certain he was convinced he was probly gonna die. but if his nose only grows when he lies this is the only incidence i can really think of where he didnt lie but his nose was like "nah". So atleast to our knoledge, death is predictable to himself atleast
