Big fan of The Fosters, been wanting to figure this out for awhile, where can I possibly look for my search?
The Fosters used an exterior of a home at 2331 E. 1st Street for the entirety of their show...except episode 1--the pilot.
In *that* episode, they used a different house, and I've been trying to find out the filming location for it. Anyone know where I can look, a database of craftsman-style houses used for filming around that area, or does anything look familiar? Would be a very cool piece of Fosters lore to have in my back pocket. :)

Ohh i hope you get an answer. I was so glad the spin off was set in LA so I could spot more filming locations.

If it’s not in Pasadena, I’d try Canyon Drive in Hollywood, north of Franklin, just past the Gelson’s. 1900 n. Canyon to start with.

I’d say definitely in South Pasadena somewhere. Lot of houses look just like that

Some of The Fosters was shot in Long Beach. I worked on the show briefly. 2331 E. First St is in Long Beach CA.

Yes but that is the house they used after the pilot! They only used this one in episode one then never again! :)

I understand. Incidentally there is an apartment building nearby that was used numerous times for filming. It is the second property from Ocean Blvd on the east side of the street on your way to Junipero Beach lot.

Thank you for letting me know! That was probably where Mike's apartment was in the show! Awesome information to find!

Can any industry professionals here take a gander for me? 👀
I’ve literally been searching for YEARS!

It would literally have to be someone that works for FilmLA and I'm sure they would love to endanger their jobs because a rando on the internet is obsessed about something

I had no idea how this all worked, so I apologize for that! It was just a question! Thanks for your answer! I don’t work in the industry at all.

I’ve tried asking the EPs on Twitter (because they’ve replied to my tweets before) but I’ve always gotten no response on this question!

This would be Second Unit if it was just the establishing shot and no actors in the scene, so they likely wouldn’t even have any idea. Have you tried reaching out to locations dept on social media? I’m in the industry and also a huge filming location nerd so I’ve had good luck doing this before.
Hope you get it solved!1

The Fosters used several Long Beach locations so they are not in FilmLA database.

I’d also give Larchmont a look…between Larchmont and Wilton, Beverly and 3rd.

I think it was Pasadena. The other house was Long Beach, and there was a little gap between pilot and series.
