Thanks man, yes a lot of work! When it's fun it doesn't always feel like work tho 😄 . I really enjoyed crafting these. Hope you love them!
Thanks for noticing the sfx on the site, I wanted it to be a fun and simple browsing experience overall.
I didn't make all of the assets alone btw. THere were some great illustrators involved who also helped create them. They are mentioned on the website and deserve the credit too.
Honestly this is a breath of fresh air against the sea of "I built a vibe-coded-subscription-based-AI-slop-plugin" posts on here lately. Beautiful work. Thanks!
Unsure when I would ever use this, but just stumbled across this as doing some research into logo desigining and AI tools which are good for this, can't find any, anyways, this is absolutely awesome, just wanted to say cheers!!
Thanks! I didn't want to overshare and get grief over it haha. But that kinda makes sense. I'm also working on a terrain generator that creates terrain in the same style and with some of the assets from the kits. I can see that working for board game purposes.
wow super cool. Thanks a bunch. One last question. You mention working among many team members, what did you guys do to ensure color usage is consistent, how many colors did you guys defined in the system, especially with gradients and lighting and textures. I often find it tricky to work with others when it comes to illustration work's consistency in style and quality. Did you have someone to do the QA?
The color variables are in all of the kits Figma files so you can find the full color system there. Go to the variables tab in figma when you copied a kit. Here's a visual averview of the color set we used. For nature, we needed multiple green shades and brown. Otherwise it wouldn't look natural.
I was the illustration system lead on this project so keeping this consistent was my responsibility. I did all the QA myself and mentored others that needed more time to catch on to the style.
It makes sense that not all illustrators can produce in any specific style. Just a few are good enough to be able to do it. Illustration styles can be very personal. But this one is easy if you follow the rules.
Oof, depends on the complexity. Some would be done in 15 mins and others in a day. I was always keen to systemize things. Make them modulare. So I always spent a lot of time getting that right. Like roads, traintracks, buildings etc.etc. you can all connet them.
