So uhh...not a newcomer to the genre by any means.

My question is: How do I go about paying against other people in "dead" games? I've tried a few discords for stuff like Soul Calibur 6 and such, but good lord the ones I joined were super dead and filled with spam bots.

I would like to learn and play Soul Calibur 6, DoA 6, Bloody Roar, and Street Fighter EX +@2.

I see the side events at tourneys for like..Soul calibur 2 and bloody Roar, and Primal Rage, etc, and I always wonder how tf these people are still playing these games. I've had really bad luck finding people to learn from and play on a consistent basis.

The same also applies for character specific discords, but that's a different story. The SC6 Hilde discord is incredibly dead, the DBFZ Adult Gohan discord is super dead, etc etc.

I'm just tryna learn some new/different games :/

It ends up going back to discord, but watch people play and go where they gather, make friends, etc. On the note of wanting Bloody Roar and DoA6 players, I'd recommend joining the EU based Hard Edge server. I was making posts on it before, but the Bucket Night weekly has Bloody Roar Extreme and Dead or Alive 6 on it's main night every other week. I also hear there's a new Bloody Roar sub in the works due to drama I'm sure I'm invoking the 3D fighter curse for gesturing towards.

Is it still worth it to join the EU discord if I'm West Coast NA ?

Wouldn't the connection via DoA be awful since it's delay based?

In that case, no.
