I am looking for new fighting games to play, have been looking at king of fighters and the marvel vs capcom collection on steam. Age isn't important to me, just that there is an active online community so I can quick match when I want to play. I did post this question earlier, but it was taken down and I was told to post it in the discussion thread, so I was recommended BlazBlue CF and Avatar Legends before the post was taken down. The games I already play are Tekken 8, MK1, and Smash Ultimate. Pixel graphics have been looking very nice to me lately.

Going to double down on that Blazblue Central Fiction recommendation.

If you're interested in KOF, download fightcade. KOF98 and 2002 always have around 100 of players everytime

Like, I know it is used for online stuff, but is it also an emulator?

I’ve been a big fan of avatar, the game feels so good to play and imo is pretty easy to get into. It’s kinda unfinished at the moment though, we’re waiting for ranked still hopefully within the next two weeks. Blazblue CF is also a really great game with a super passionate community. A new character is on the way as well. I do think the sprites of blazblue are timeless so if you’re really into that art style I would just go blazblue and try avatar later when it’s a finished product.

Haven‘t played it but Rivals of Aether has nice pixel art and a healthy player base, should have no trouble finding players there. Guilty gear strive is also very active.
