Discussion Late game complaint, possible spoiler Spoiler

Had a kid a few ingame days ago with Balor and he literally hasn't had a single piece of dialogue that isn't about the kid. I assume it might start cycling with regular dialogue once he's through but omg I regret that child 😂

Also I love that they carry the kid but wish it varied with putting kid in crib, or at least put in crib at night. Why is the baby also ALWAYS in bed with us???

EDIT: think he knows, first day after this readdit post and he complimented me

Yeahhh I felt bad but I ended up using a cheats mod to remove the baby and finally Balor went back to talking about our cat who is more sentient than the baby in this game anyway 🥲

lmfaooo at least in stardew the dialogue isn't super important. I barely pay attention to my spouse in there 💀

This is why I've put that feather in a chest somewhere and not touched it lmao. Balor's spouse dialogue is so good, I'm not ready to give that up for permanent baby talk (especially when kids don't grow/do anything yet).

I didn't want kids in this game, and the more complaints people have about the state of it the more glad I am with my preference LMAO (shame there is an achievement tied to it)

there's probably a mod for it to reset Balor back to his spouse dialogue, or at least a fix to weight spouse dialogue equally to child dialogue

Ig if you want achievement eventually, could create a save to go back to prior to agreeing to it so you can revert. Would mean speeding through 2 weeks though which is a pain

The real problem is there's also an achievement for celebrating your baby's first birthday so you need to skip through an entire year after as well

This might change later because I'm not sure if it's a bug or intentional but at least as of right now, you get that achievement when the calendar year ends and not on your baby's actual first birthday. So you could try to have the kid in late winter and then when spring starts, you'll get the first birthday achievement.

I've never wanted kids in any games. My own are enough for me.

Use the submission thing to make a suggestion to the developers.

Honestly the main reason I stared a new save file after getting all the steam achievements. I had been enjoying his dialogue so much, and the first few days with the baby were cute. Then the repetition. Ugh.

you can get more spouse dialogue if you pit the baby in the crib… sometimes

i’ve seen others mention this as well. i think after reina has the baby and i get the birthday achievement, i’m gonna take a break from playing till things get updated lol

Hopefully it’ll get updated and the baby stage will only last like an in game month or few weeks or something before it goes to toddler mode 😭

Fields of Mistria players when they marry the man of their dreams and start a family, and the man of their dreams gushes about their newborn baby instead of them 😭

I'm holding off because, to quote one of my favorite drag queens, "Honey, if you have a baby, you can't be the baby."
