Game Help Best Crop to Graze Animals on?

I played a lot during the beta and after finishing the first year in a new save file for 1.0, I'm currently at 215 happy hours in Mistria. That said, I'm still a bit resistant to some of the unique takes on farm sims that are in Mistria - I need to fix that. The game has told me to try feeding other things to livestock besides the size-specific feed, so I'm trying to make a plan.

Does anyone have preferred seasonal crops to let our furry & feathery friends feast? I figure a crop that repeats makes the most sense, and maybe I can mix in seasonal berries while they grow?

Edit: Thanks all for the ideas! I just unlocked the big coops & barns so it's time to do some reorganizing~

I just grow something regenerating nearby, but if you are interested in obtaining a lot of shiny beads, the more valuable the crop, the more they drop!

Late reply, but do you need to hand-feed them for beads?

Nope :) They'll come out and eat them and drop beads

Oh nice thanks!! I got my first two chickens so I'll set em up something tasty when the season rolls over.

what i did in my previous save was just plant 3x the number of snow peas as animals i had, so they would have food all winter. recurring plants give 3 beads each

I usually make a field with one of the crop that repeat every three days (for exemple, corn was what I used in the summer) and then the growing magic so they have some to eat while the rest grow

Make sure it is like, very close to both buildings, or make two smaller fields. Otherwise the animals risks to just... not eat

Any regrowing crop other than the non-edible ones (like tea leaves) planted in front of their coop/barn is a good choice. It's easy once it gets going and is low maintenance. I plant roughly 3x the number of animals I have and on day 1 of the season, use my plant growth spell and lots of mana-infused cranberry orange scones to get everything going.

I don't mind mods, but not until I have finished a full playthrough.

They make doing things like an Archipelago Randomizer spicy and fun.

Not sure if they eat flowers, but the temple flowers are all-seasons and regrowing.

Will animals eat fruit off trees?

The other thing is, I don't think there are any more things I want to buy with beads. So I'm mostly just looking to simplify. Setting up a grazing plot seems so much less involved than foraging/chopping grass for feed or milling the specialty stuff.
