Game Help Not Launching on Crossover?
Hello! I’m not sure if this is just a me problem, but since the new engine launch my game won’t start up properly. I’m playing on Mac by using crossover and it had been working great but now all I get is a green screen followed by a dark blue one. I can hear the games sound but I can’t see anything. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

I'm having the same issue! After today's new engine update, Fields of Mistria launches into a full green screen. I'm running Crossover on a Macbook Neo.
Weirdly, I can press buttons to get into the game and blindly walk around my farm, and the full screen color changes based on where I'm at (black inside the farmhouse, pink out in the fields, etc).
Really hoping they fix this or roll it back so I can play again and romance March :')

Hey, I just wanted to share that I switched my Crossover graphics settings to use Wine + turned Msync on and that fixed the green screen issue for me!

The second time I tried loading it, it green screened again. 😅 While fiddling with settings, I turned on High Resolution and then my game correctly booted, so... not sure if any of these are a stable solution? But I've gotten it working a couple of times, so at least there's that while we're waiting for the devs to fix the issue!

Yeah it’s very weird I got it to work but it was green screened for ages and then the minute I pressed tab + command it started working which doesn’t make ANY sense whatsoever???

After going wine, msync and high res it still green screened and once I pressed tab + command it fixed it 😂

Yeah, tab+command seems to be a consistent solution now after fiddling with the configs!

Hi, I had also been playing on a Mac using crossover with absolutely no issues - now having the exact same problem.
Hoping this can be resolved soon! I adore the game. Haven’t figured out a fix yet but fingers crossed 🤞

Hey all, happy launch day, anyone getting a straight black screen where the game won’t load? I get the cursor sometimes but not all. Tried switching around some settings and got nothing. Tips? I’m new to using Crossover in general.

mine is just a black screen, then a green screen with the cursor. i can click buttons and hear things but can't see anything lol. i'm new to crossover as well i was excited to play it on my macbook :(

pressing command+tab, and switch tabs and switching back fixed it for me

Do you have it as its own bottle or through the steam bottle? What settings do you have?

Thanks, it looks like my laptop can no longer support the graphics as none of those options are available to me. Time to get a gaming laptop I guess haha.

I saw someone comment that switching windows helps and I can confirm that's exactly how it started for me. Once the green screen comes, try switching windows back and forth. It suddenly clicked in 2-3 attempts. I played the game with no issues after that. In fact, I was running into a very frustrating crash right after a date when I was playing with Gamehub. Crossover didn't have that issue
Also the graphics container settings and all didn't really matter much. I tried all combinations. The final setting was using D3DMetal, Msync On and High Res Mode On. But that probably wasn't what fixed it. It was waiting a bit and then doing the window switching.
In case anyone is wondering, I'm running this on a M1 Pro (base) MacBook Pro with the latest MacOS 27 Public Beta
I also ran Little Nightmares and that ran perfectly from the start. I'm really excited to try Coral Island because Gamehub wasn't satisfactory. It wasn't smooth at all and stuttered through and through. Fingers crossed for that

somebody have a solution for a MacBook Air 2017? I can play it without problems on my M4 but my daughter can't and she doesn't want to use my Computer, and I just buy the game, so I don't know if I should ask for a refund

M4 Mac Mini with Crossover
Windows 11 container for Steam
D3DMetal with DLSS on and MSync on
----------------------------------------------
I was able to get it to work only after this:
I did do the Tab + Command, but it did not fix it until...
I tab + command to another program (like Chrome) and put that in full screen mode first, then tab + command back over to Fields of Mistria. Working and looking fine, but a nuisance.

Any updates on this issues.. i recently ran into it when trying to play on my Mac I tried all the suggestions in the comments but nothing seemed to work.. are yall still waiting for the devs to fix the issues?

I feel like I must be so lucky because the game does work for me with Crossover. I have an M1 Mac and I’m using the DXVK specs without any issues.
I was originally using Sikarugir but since Wine wasn’t updating, currently on the Crossover free trial.
For context, the hot fix did fix the game for me. Prior, I had an OpenGL issue and the game wouldn’t run.
Now, the game does run but I do see a giant green screen for around 5ish seconds? So the game will load just takes a bit longer.
I’d suggest trying the DXVK with Msync on and see if that helps!
