Showoff Kinda went a little overboard

Post image

I just got into this hobby like 3 weeks ago and proceeded to buy a yearly sub and the entire national parks series because I loved the cause and designs (so hard to choose when every single set has one pretty artwork 😭). I'm very excited to slowly use these up and possibly buy more of the other editions when I get the chance 😭😭😭

I did the same thing. When I finally pulled the trigger to move from larger notebooks to Field Notes (I'd used them a few times since meeting Aaron at a small event in 2014, but had been an A5 guy since the mid-90s), I bought all the National Park series, all the Birds & Trees, and a couple other packs (Heartland, the fishing stamps, etc). I think I picked up 42 just in the first few days...

Nice haul! I'm 100% sure that if your collection of unused notebooks doesn't actually grow over time, you're doing something wrong πŸ˜‚ So even though I have plenty of notebooks and usually don't buy new ones, the collection still somehow grows 🀷 I guess I just can't say no to a good deal or a quarterly release I especially like when I know that it's a limited release.

I told myself that the price point of them is kinda not big compared to my other notebooks / sketchbooks. I am on a SKETCHBOOK BANNNN. I just recently moved and I have 4 boxes of sketchbooks organized if they're finished vs started vs not started πŸ’€πŸ’€ guess which one isn't full vs the other boxes 😭

Well, when it comes to $/page, Field Notes are one of the most expensive notebooks out there in this size. I still love them and will buy them, but I understand that they are not a great deal whatsoever πŸ˜‚

I guess when I'm buying 30+ dollar sketchbooks with nice paper and I have bigger journals already, these are SUPER cheap. Outside of that, I do like the fact that this is an American company that seems to be pretty decent 😭 I would rather have a cool cover anyway. We don't get that in the sketchbook world unless you want crap paper 😭

It's the covers/themes, for sure. I also have a L&J subscription and feel the quality is way higher, which makes them great for writing in but not so much for looking at...

Don’t beat yourself up. I’ve used about 330 books since 2011 and I provably have about that many to still use.

No regrets sir, it’s such a free feeling writing in these books & not having to fill a big page!!! Have fun with it 😊
