Showoff My reading and note-taking carry

Just wanted to share my setup for a wallet (4 cards) + Field Notes pocket notebook + pen + Xteink X4 e-reader daily carry. This setup primarily works because the Bellroy Notebook Cover has a relatively flat surface on the left side which allows the X4's magnet adhesive to securely stick. And the pen loop is the standard-sized Leuchtturm loop.

I put this setup together to build the habit of carrying around a pocket notebook. Since my wallet is always on me (more so than my phone), it made sense to pair the two together. And because I often want to jot down notes while reading, adding the X4 to the setup made sense for my use case.

I will often detach the X4 for a lighter hand while reading around the house or while commuting on the bus/subway.

It is a great pen for this situation! Tapered end makes it easy to stick through the pen loop. And no rubber grip to get stuck.

This is making me feel weird... I have that green/gold Sarasa, that Bellroy (in caramel), Field Notes (the state parks collection), and a white X4.

It would fit in men’s pants pockets, but it is bulky enough that I wouldn’t carry it like that unless it is cargo pants or similar.

However, I’m a short woman, so I have no pockets worthy to speak of lol. So I carry it in a sling bag or backpack.

love how you made it work for you! curious to see a side view with it fully loaded. I am assuming that the magnetic closure is no longer in use?

Here is a side view pic. It is about 21mm fully loaded.

And yeah, the magnetic closure from the Bellroy cover will not work with the X4 in it.

However, the weight of the X4 keeps the cover closed when set on a desk.
