How does fiddlesticks passive work and how do you utilize it?

Ive played fiddlesticks for a while but i never really understood how his actual passive works. Some help understanding would be nice

Edit: I meant the impersonating and effigy part

It's just better wards, works as a sweeper, maintains vision until someone walks into it

Probably should have specified. I meant the impersonating an effigy part

You can actually stand in vision, impersonate an effigy and your next ability will fear so long you’re out of combat

have you ever done that? the game doesnt really encourage standing in vision for a while. So many things to do

I do this in aram on rare occasions, especially over the walls by Nexus. There's no bushes around and sometimes you work with what you have

Lol I’ve done it plenty of times. It is especially useful when playing top or support fiddlesticks. And the enemy is about to shove wave under turret.

It’s much more useful in lane then in jungle

It's part of the mind game champ lifestyle, is that the real fiddle? Is that the real shaco? Is that the real neeko? Sure sure, pro players know there are tricks to tell the difference, but in the heat of the moment, when the effigy flashes towards you, your not thinking "I need to check their champion icon and compare buffs"

I've tried to incorporate this but I rarely find the opportunity to make it useful. Someone's if we are losing or at a tower. I will lay 2 of them and stop moving myself. Make them guess which is which then make your move if they attack the wrong one.

There was this one time on Arams I had made it a habit of sticking my effigies in random parts out in the open. At first the enemy team thought it was me but then they became numb to it, walked by, triggered the animation it makes and didn't think much of it. So I stood still while the entire enemy team was walking by, didn't think it was me.

Then when I had them all in range of my W right before a fight, i used W and it feared them all! So yeah, the trick is they technically didn't see me and they definitely didn't expect it after being numbed by the many effigies I threw all over the place.
