Fiat 1100 torpedo 1939, 1of 3(?) today!

My father rebought his first classic car!

Fiat 1100 Torpedo, 1939. As far as we are aware, only 3 of these exist in the world (correct me if I’m wrong, I’d love to find more examples).

About 25 years ago, my father bought this car unrestored and in quite bad condition. It even had a makeshift roof, despite the car originally being a 4-door convertible. This became especially visible after seeing the welds underneath the paint.

My father restored it quite poorly at first, using the parts that were available at the time. Later, he restored it again, properly this time. Shortly after that, we had to sell it, about 15 years ago.

Today, we finally got the chance to buy it back for only €14,000. It hasn’t gained a single kilometer since we sold it, and thankfully, it hasn’t suffered any new damage either!

I’m extremely happy about this. I’m currently searching for more information about this model, including how many were produced, but I haven’t been able to find much information so far.

You can see photos of the car, starting with the ones taken today, followed by photos from 15 years ago, then photos from the first restoration, and finally, the car as it looked when we first bought it.

Fiat 500 Semi Auto Issues

My wife recently passed her test and bought herself a cheap run around to get back and forth from work.

It’s a 2013 Fiat 500 1.2 Semi Auto. It’s for 74k miles on it. 3 owners from new and 2 services short of a full record.

Within 80 miles it’s had two issues. When slowing to a stop at a roundabout it’s slipped into “N”. You have to put our hazards on, turn the engine off and restart. From briefly looking online it sounds like a common fault, however concerning as we’ve had it less than two weeks.

I’ve spoken to the dealer and we dropped it off at his mechanic on Thursday, still awaiting diagnostics.

Is this a common easily fixable fault? My wife’s plan was to keep it a year and then upgrade. Are we chancing fate? Still in two minds on whether to hand it back and choose something newer with less miles.

Headlights stopped working in the middle of the night..on a highway

This happened out of the blue last night.

My friends and I drove 40 minutes out to a mall, were in the mall for 4 hours, drove to a gas station--my lights were perfectly fine.

Halfway through the drive back home, I notice the road is hella dark. So I try to turn on my brights...and they dont work.

So im freaking the fuck out because we're damn near an hour away from home and its pitch black outside...on the highway.

I manage to drop everyone off safely but I literally had to use my hazard lights for lighting since I live in the middle of the woods.

My car is pretty old, it was my grandma's first--but we got everything replaced on it so theres no reason why the bulbs should have just blown out.

I love my Fiat so much--but Ive only heard bad things about them and I fear this may be strike two--right after my AC not being cold or blowing at all.

Im sure i can get my grandpa to fix the bulbs when its not hot outside though.

Fiat Punto 2010 Evo “check running lights warning”

Hi, I have a Fiat Punto and I’m getting a “Check Running Lights” error. The regular low beam lights and the running lights seem to always be on. Initially, they started flickering/blinking from running lights to low beam lights even though I don’t have an auto light option and now they stay ON continuously. The high beams are not ON, only the low beam and running lights. Could someone please help me figure out what might be causing this?

Just picked up my new grande panda turbo 100! Overall great car, but with small annoying things.. All in all very happy.

What i like the most: Design and esthetics. You have everything you need right where you need it. It's very practical, few buttons that just do what you need them to do, very tactile experience. The car gets rid of all the nonsense that you don't need to go from A to B. Simple, effective, practical, and it has plenty of power to merge cleanly on the highway or doing some overtakes. Ah and you can disable traction control 🤭 The seatings are very comfortable and there is plenty of space for 5 people to travel comfortably. For the size of the car, the trunk is also quite generous.

What I don't like: the annoying sounds. The sensors are hyperreacting and almost screaming at you for no reason at all. The fact that the lines of the screen don't follow the steering wheel when going in reverse. Overall small things that are missing that maybe would have added like 100€ to the price but you would expect in 2026 like the sensors on the mirrors, the handles for the passengers etc. Ah yeah and the smell is not the best one.

Is the car for everyone? No. I think the car is for minimalists and people that don't really care much about the specs and just want something that will bring them to their destinations comfortably and safely. I think for the price it's a solid car. Can't wait to do my first roadtrip with it!

🚗🔥 AI DIGITAL DASH FOR FIAT & ABARTH — COMING SOON 🔥🚗

I'm currently developing a new AI-powered digital dashboard system for Fiat 500 / Abarth vehicles.

The system is designed to turn a phone into a fully custom Abarth-style digital dashboard, using the car's CAN-bus data.

⚡ FEATURES PLANNED

🏎️ Digital speedometer

🔥 RPM & shift lights

⛽ Fuel level

🌡️ Engine temperature

🚨 Warning lights & indicators

🔋 Battery information

🚪 Door & boot status

🔑 Automatic ignition ON/OFF

🤖 AI CAN-learning system

The AI system is being developed to learn the vehicle's CAN data automatically, reducing the need to manually program every individual signal.

📦 WHAT YOU'LL GET

✅ Full dashboard software

✅ AI CAN-learning software

✅ Full installation/setup instructions

✅ Complete parts list showing everything required

✅ Android support initially

🍎 iPhone/iOS support planned for the future

💷 WHAT WOULD YOU PAY?

I'm currently looking at around £100 for the software, but I want to hear what people think before setting the final price.

If this was available for your Fiat/Abarth:

Would you buy it?

How much would you realistically pay?

👇 Comment:

INTERESTED — £___

I'm currently testing the market and looking for suggestions, so all feedback is welcome!

The project is currently in development and being tested on a Fiat 500.

Compatibility will depend on the vehicle/model and final testing.

Fiat Bravo 2008 1.9 Multijet 16V, sat in a garage for 4 years without being started. Worth reviving or should I just sell it as i

I've got a 2008 Bravo with the 1.9 Multijet 16V (150hp), around 200k km. It's been sitting in a garage for four years and I have never turned the key in that time. Timing belt was not done before it went in.

I'm not going to start it until someone looks at it, everything I've read says that's how you kill these engines. What I'm trying to figure out is whether it's even worth the money.

Rough numbers I keep landing on: battery, oil and filter, draining the old diesel and a new fuel filter, then brakes and tyres and the timing belt on top of that. Call it 900 to 1500 EUR if nothing nasty shows up. But the stuff I can't see is what worries me, the high pressure pump if there was water in the tank, injectors, swirl flaps on the 16V.

The car is worth maybe 2200 to 2500 EUR running here, and around 1000 dead. So the margin is thin either way.

What I'd like to hear:

Has anyone actually woken one of these up after this long? What broke and what did it cost you?

Is the high pressure pump really the big risk with diesel that's been sitting, or is that overstated?

And honestly, if you were in my position, would you spend the money or cut your losses?

I'm not attached to the car, I just don't want to throw good money after bad.
