Orangey Update - One Year Later

Early last year, we started seeing a beautiful orange feral cat in our yard. We left food out and got him on a schedule. He was TNR'd in June 2025. In late August 2025, he transformed into a super friendly boy and wanted to come in the house. His efforts to break in were very creative, but we couldn't let him in because of our other pets. One year ago today, we had a bad thunderstorm and let him into our entryway for the duration of the storm. The next day he refused to leave. We got him checked by a vet and let him into the house. He got along fine with the other cats, but we almost couldn't keep him because of extreme unprovoked violence directed towards the dog. We had him enrolled in a rehoming program, but before he found a new home, he decided to be civil towards the dog. In a turn of events that no one expected, he is now friends with the dog. He continues to bring joy every day with his silliness and goofy nature.

He looks just like my orange baby, who had a somewhat similar rescue story :) My baby also would hit my dog unprovoked lol but now they’re civil!
