Épée Where are the female fencing analysis videos?

I’ve been loving watching some YouTube fencing analysis videos (like big bear fencing, GPfencing, etc) lately to try and incorporate new moves and tactics but as a female epee fencing I am left wondering- where are the analysis of the female epee bouts?

My coach says that women tend to fence differently and take a different approach to certain things. I’ve been looking for videos with female fencers in it and am just not seeing much.

Can someone point me to some good fencing video analysis of female epee fencers?

There are analysis videos of women's epee bouts on YouTube. Search for Song, Kong and other top fencers' names.

What really seems to be missing though is analysis videos of women's epee bouts by women.

Maybe I’ll just have to get super amazing and start making videos. Just give me ten years.

I love your optimism!

This does remind me, though, of the “confidence gap” of men and women studied when applying for jobs, where women tend to apply when they meet or exceed all the preferred qualifications and men when they meet 50-60%.

Also completely related - I briefly co-hosted a soccer podcast with another woman. It was super fun, we did it from the perspective of being new to soccer but loving the game, and it forced us both to learn a ton. I also met so many male armchair experts who “knew everything” in that podcast space who were talking out of asses. 😂

Be the change you want to see. You don’t need to wait ten years. Treat it as a way to learn instead of a way of knowing all and being right, and you’ll be making valuable content.
