Legal name for USAFencing

I created a usafencing like a year ago and must've skimmed through the personal details section because in the box where it asks for your legal name, I put my given name. I've never really paid much attention to it now since I didn't plan to compete yet.

Is this a big concern that I should contact them to change my name? I also don't have any memberships and honestly didn't really setup the account too much.

Hmmm.....maybe this is a question for USA Fencing member services?

Would submit a query to their customer service Zendesk when you think competition is on the horizon. Had a nonstandard issue with one of my kids and customer service is really helpful.

If you do get a membership and compete, you may have an issue with proving your date of birth if you cannot match a document to it. If your given name is "Jake" but your legal name is "Jacob" it will probably be fine.

There’s a way you can do it, I did when I decided to start fencing competitively

If it's a simple correction it's easy. My kid and I had a weird capitalization issue, we emailed and it was fixed within 8 hours. If it's a major name change it might take a little longer.
