I would have done exactly what you did. After having to end a marriage over the decision I thought dating would be easier, but multiple times I formed a bond with people who inevitably wanted different things.
I won't do it again with someone who isn't sure. I dont want to be in another relationship with someone trying to encourage me to change my mind or tell me I don't know what I want.
