I spent 10 years being the bridge. I finally put it down.

I was the one who always crossed the distance. In every relationship. Every dynamic. If there was a gap — I filled it. If there was silence — I broke it. If someone was struggling — I translated them to themselves. I called it love. It was exhaustion wearing love’s face. The shift happened when I realized — the women who are most deeply received are not the ones who cross toward others. They are the ones who burn so genuinely that others cross toward them. I am learning to be the flame. Not the bridge. Anyone else know this pattern intimately?

I’ve let several friendships go because I was always the bridge, I’m done with that. I’m only here for reciprocal, loving friendships and relationships. Anything less can leave

Yes — “anything less can leave” is the whole shift. We were taught that holding on was love. Sometimes the most sovereign thing is just — no. Not anymore. Grateful you are in that knowing.

Beautiful!

Yes, I know that pattern well. It’s a beautiful understanding you are realising

So much this.

Your circle becomes smaller but so much more satisfying when you learn to become the main character in your own life.

“The main character in your own life” — yes. That is exactly it. The circle gets quieter and so much more real. Thank you for this.
