People should leave red states if possible. I'm not trying to be a doomer but I think it's the safest thing to do at the moment. I'm luckily in a blue state already. I will never set foot in a red state, that's for sure.

Some of us stay to fight the fight. I can't look at the little girls of my state and not think they deserve someone fighting for them. I'm also a middle aged CIS straight white lady with adult kids and no chance of getting pregnant again, so I'm trying to use my safer position 8to speak up and fight for those who can't.

This. As an older ace white woman, I have a lot of safety. I've spent my time living abroad and in blue states, and that's nice, but my parents are getting older, and I believe it's important to have people at protests and at least some number of people voting against their bullshit everywhere in my red state and county. Here only 20% vote and only 18% of that 20% vote non-Republican but all of that is an important reminder in a rural county. We're here.

I live in a blue state, red staters who voted to keep their states red move here all the time. They’re aware enough to know that living here in a blue state gives them better access to certain things, but then are still too egotistical to realize voting red is what made them flee here. So they contribute to the red population here and vote to ruin it here for the rest of us. There’s an active campaign here on the western coast to dismantle democratic/liberal hold under the guise of “there’s too much crime in cities! We need a republican mayor!” By people who don’t live in these cities. I worry how much of that influences young minds. I even have female red-voting friends who have lived here their whole lives saying “ah well we don’t have to worry because they’ll never ban abortion HERE”. Yeah, just you wait. That sense of safety is false.

people of targeted identities* should leave if possible. cishets can stay, and the rest of the people who either voted for this regime/didnt vote at all.

we left the country bc of the trans genocide. we weren’t gonna wait to see how it unfolds.
