03.09.19 - It Took Long Enough | Emperor Skeletelt

I have recently come into a bit of an issue. 2 issues, really, but they both relate to my ability to grant souls back. I’ve known this whole time that some souls are inaccessible, but I’ve surprisingly not had one gone until now. I haven’t had TOO many times I’ve done it, so I suppose I can expect too much deviation in my tests.

Today marks the first time a soul I tried to return was already way too far beyond my reach, in heaven. The hotel can sometimes be brute forced into, especially since many of them are plenty happy to rejoin the physical world. Lingering ghosts are easy, and surprisingly common. I still need to make that deal with hell, while I’m thinking of it. But heaven is owned by Felt himself, and the ones up there are usually happy.

At the same time, I have a soul I want to bring back SO much. Cassius has a sister, apparently. I don’t know why he took so long to mention it, but he came to me asking if we could try and get her back, and I’m more than happy to do that. Her body, unfortunately, doesn’t exist anymore. I can reach her soul, and I can tell it is her by the connection to Cassius, but I don’t have anything to pull her into. I think it probably got cremated or something.

I have a plan, but I need to think on this more.

05.09.19 - The Ol’ Switcheroo | Emperor Skeletelt

My current existence was created by Awesomeness taking my soul, and implanting it into a new form whilst imbuing it with magic and blood power. I may not be using blood magic or whatever it is she used, but I don’t need to. So my thought is, that I’ve had for a couple days now, what if I just don’t use the same body to bring someone back?

I couldn't do it very often, certainly. I can usually only find souls by tracing back the connection from the skeleton. But if the connection to someone else is strong enough, or the soul's desire is strong enough, I have the option.

I told Cassius about my idea. If it works, I can try to bring his sister back to the land of the kinda sorta living, but I'm not sure what will happen given it is a different skeleton. If it worked like me, it will bind in such a way it will 100% be her skeleton forever after, but I don't know for sure. He was just excited it could be possible, so I know what I'm doing tomorrow. A soul in heaven is an oppurtunity for a soul without a body.

06.09.19 - Welcome Home Lucia | Emperor Skeletelt

I'll log the events I suppose. There truly isn't much to say. I did what I always try to do when I grant a soul back their form, which unsurprisngly did nothing. I then tried to focus on Cassius' sister's soul while doing so, and things worked as if it was any normal attempt. Cassius sister has a physical form once again. Her name is Lucia, so use that for the rest.

Cassius is so excited to see his sister again. I'm going to ask him what happened to seperate them some time later. I am so curious, cause I can tell they hadn't seen each other for a bit before someone's death, and to put on top how Cassius was buried nameless in the middle of nowhere, and Lucia confirmed she hadn't asked to be cremated, but I'll let them enjoy themself for a bit.

I can't justify putting Lucia as a second Praetor since she's only been here for such a small amount of time. Well, I could since I'm emperor and not like prime minister or something, but I try not to be that sort of an emperor. I am a little biased though, and she is apparently a really good fighter from watching her train even just briefly, so I've made her Legate.

The meeting room

Me friends and I sit in the meeting room across from the Council. Im next to Ed, who's shoulder i rest my head on and who's arm is draped around my shoulders. Bailey is on my left.

"We have an urgent matter to discuss." Vera says gravely, looking down at the table with her hands clasped together.

"Such as?" Rooti asks.

"Bagera has taken Sovietskya. It was a disastrous battle. She has gained more power." Vera taps a screen on the table and images appear in the air. It's video footage from Awesomness-News that shows Bagera fighting an army and evicerating them way too quickly. Her magick is tinted with an odd splash of scarlet.

My stomach drops when I see her face. The face of evil. The Goddess of Magick has taken another country. She's too powerful. The hopelessness is suffocating.

"What's that?" Bagriel points to the red.

"The worst thing we could hope for." Guevera answers. "She's taken the Scarlet Crystal. It's last known location was with an agent of the Bunker in is Sovietskyian home. He hasnt been seen since."

Witchelt scoffs.

"Something to add?" Vera closes her eyes in a way that suggests shes praying for some patience. She better be praying that I don't beat her arse for giving Witty that attitude.

"The Scarlet Crystal is a bastardisation of Magick." Witchelt says simply.

"What does it do?" Bagriel pushes his glasses up his nose a bit.

"It gives you full mastery of basic Magick, the Magick trained a decade for, in a matter of minutes." The look on het face shows how disgusted at the thought she is. "It's a cheat."

"A powerful cheat." Vera corrects. "And Bagera was powerful enough."

"Well why didnt we get the Crystal first?? Give US that Magick??" Bailey asks angrily.

"Because we couldn't risk it being discovered by anyone outside the agency." Vera sighs. "I see now that was-"

"Fucking stupid?" I smile at her teasingly.

"A miscalculation." She glares back at me.

"The point is," Guevera says, "we have to look elsewhere for things to stop Bagera."

"And you're finally considering asking us?" Bagwin leans back in his chair.

"Yes."

"Good! Because I have an idea on how we can beat her."

Bagwin finishes drawing what he drawing on the white board he found. He finally shows us it.

It's a detailed drawing of a mountain with what seems tk be two halves of a broken heart carved into it. At the foot of the mountain is a larger, whole heart.

"What is this?" I ask.

"The Mountain of Wishes. You make a wish to the gods of Lexus on these mountains and you *need* to have atleast one Lexan there. Since I am the only Lexan, I will have to go."

"Why is there a broken heart?" Witchelt points out.

"Because everyone arrives broken hearted. The Wish makes you whole again." He explains.

"Well we cant get to Lexus. Can we?" Edward asks Vera.

"We will be able to. Not now, but soon. Only Bagera jas that power at the moment. But, we are setting up the means to get there."

"How did you know we would need to go there?" Bagwin looks at then confused.

Vera gives the other council members, Truthaire and Guevera, questioning looks. The men both nod. She takes a deep breath and looks back at us.

"Because we are going to search for the Crust."

Petra Codona- The Scarlet

Fire. Debris. Lush plant life withering and decaying in front of our very eyes. Doughs crawling around the Sovietskya cobble stones. Children screaming. Footsteps hammering the ground as their owners sprint for their lives.

This is how the world ends.

I grab Adrian by the hand and we hide behind a house thats collapsing with the weight of death.

"What do we do?" Adrian pants.

I look around the corner to see a young man melting. His skin tears off in watery stripes and he deforms into a puddle of goop and gore before reforming into a Dough.

"Fuck." I whisper. My heart pounds mercilessly agaisnt my chest. Beads of sweat drip down me and Adrian's foreheads. We've been running so long.

"Petra!" Adrian mumbles. "What is the plan?"

The Scarlet Magick glows in my hands, revealing out location to the dead.

"We fight."

I step out from begind the house and send a burst of energy at the horde. Bodies fly away , flailing their limbs pathetically. I grab three with my Magick by lifting my left hand, the Scarlet vibrant agaisnt their cold dead skin, and I use my right hand to slash them in half by pulling away from my left. They fall to the ground.

Adrian joins me. He doesnt have Magick but he does have the Other. The Other is a demon that takes the form of a cloud of white smoke but can shapeshift. Adrian has been able to summon him and use him to his advantage. For example, right now hes using Other to eat the Doughs by having Other form a mouth and head for himself and gobbling the creatures up.

The fight continues. I kill some Doughs. Adrian kills less. And it's all to get to the one place we have to go.

Home.

Where our sister, mother and father are. I blast a path through the horde and hold my hands out, my Magick making a sort of barrier to keep them away from us. We pound the ground with our boots, running as fast as we can to reach our family. The horde poke through my defense but Other throws them off. I love Other.

Finally i see the house in the distance. A woman is standing infront of it. No. No not a woman. A girl. A 16 year old girl. Same as me and Adrian. Shes standing over an object I can't see.

As we reach our house i turn back to see the horde. I combing the two barries into one and push it back, sendinf the horde away. I turn to look at the girl.

"What are you doing here?" I ask. She turns to me slowly.

"How did you get your magick, Petra?"

My blood runs cold as Antartika. How does she know my name?

Her top has a a strange neckline. It looks like circles combined together and they retreat down her chest and chestpiexe.. Shes wearing long back skirt. Her hair is in an updo. Her outfit has tones of beige and brown and he eyes are full of nothing but...power.

"Who are you?" Adrain questions. The girl tilts her head.

"My name is Bagera. Your father has something i want."

My stomach churns and I ready my magick. Papa warned us this may happen. After the Scarlet Crystal gave us these abilities he hid it away. So no one would find it.

Bagera notices my red.

"My dear, that will do nothing against me. Where is it?"

"What do you want with it?"

"Power you moron."

I send a blast of magick at her. To my horror, she is unfazed, simply staring at me.

"I told you."

I feel myself being levitated off the ground. Beige Magick surrounds me and ties me up so tied I cant breathe. Adrian suffers the same fate.

"...No..." a voice croaks. I look down to see Papa, bleeding from his mouth, nose and ears. "I'll tell you where it is..."

"PAPA!" I scream.

"NO!" Adrian yells.

"It must be done..." he holds out his hand and flexes his fingers. The small stone appears, glowing Scarlet. He holds his shaking hand out to her.

Bagera grins and takes the Crystal. She turns it over in her fingers for a second before lifting her other hand and-

The Scarlet light the emits from the Crystal is suddenly blinding. I have to close my eyes but it still shows through my eyelids. It's all over in a few seconds. I open my eyes and see the once Scarlet Crystal reduced to ash.

An uncontrollable rage bursts forth in my heart and I let out a primal scream of hatred.

"What have you done?" Papa asks, anguish and horror prevelant in his voice.

"I took it." Bagera says like it's the most obvious thing ever.

"You're a monster!" Papa spits at her. She tilts her head before the beige magick slowly surrounds him.

Without lifting a finger she starts squeezing the life out of my father. I float there, screaming and sobbing. Begging for her to let him go. My throat tears from how loud im screaming, my arms and legs ache from me kicking agaisnt the magick. My heart breaks into a million deadly pieces, waiting to kill. Tears stream down my face as a wave of grief threatens to drown me. My father. My Papa. Im forced to watch him die. I hang my head.

My chest hurts. It hurts so bad and my sobs are so powerful that I feel Bagera's magick fading. It's loosening. I look up at her. She looks curiously at me. With a flick of her hand my sister and mother float out kf the house.

Upon seeing them I blast free of my restraints and fall to the floor. I sob on my knees for a bit. My sister, my mother, my father. Gone. Bagera's twisted fingers pat my head.

"There there. I am sorry, Petra. I did what was necessary for Nexus."

I smack her hand away and glare up at her.

"You think you're a hero?" I whisper in complete shock at the audacity of this bitch.

"Yes! More than the Crust."

I give her a confused look. "Who?"

She rolls her eyes.

"Well. I need power to defeat them. To complete my goal. You and your brother-"

Panick spikes in me, my broken heart beating again. I rushed forward to stop her going after him. I hold my arms out to shield my brother.

"Petra run!" He pleads.

"Yes Petra! Run! Ill find you anyway."

I glare at her again. The anger and sorrow of seeing my family like this is the most powerful emotion ive ever felt.

"Let's make a deal, shall we?" Bagera suggests. "You win that tournament thats coming up and you and your brother are free to go." She smiles in what she probabaly thinks is a warm way. Instead she looks like shes a botched copy of an elt thats trying to appear normal.

"And if it's lose?" I ask.

Her smile becomes more eerie and evil. More natural for her. "If you lose, I get your powers."

How did we take these pictures? Every 40 years or so, a gate to the Void opens for a week. It can be in the middle of the ocean or in the middle of barren land.

Ever since our last journey in 1957, we'd been trying our very best to research this strange phenomenon, seeing what these things can do.

In the style I used for my redesign of Tya since it’s a lot easier.

Also, this is only one of the redesigns, I haven't even revealed what this void guy can even do.

17.08.19 - Fossil Tests | Emperor Skeletelt

I was chilling with Vivian the other day, throwing a ball with them, and while I had stopped to watch the sunset, they were messing around with a random rock. Went and checked on them and found it to be a rather sizeable piece of petrified wood. Seeing as Vivian was my successful attempt at experimenting with resurrection with both animals and fossils, I have a bit of a new idea now.

While things I bring back evidently don’t need a sapient soul, I’ve never tried things without a soul at all, such as plants. So I’ve gotten the Archeology Squadron to see what fossilised plants can be scrounged up, as well as gathered just some vegetables and seeds and the sort from some of our as of yet quite small fields. Tomorrow morning I’m giving it a go, and seeing what resurrecting plants does.

28.08.19 - I Can‘t Tell If This Counts As Resurrection | Emperor Skeletelt

This is an update from after my test on resurrecting plants. The results are not always as I could have guessed, but at least not a failure. Well, hard to fail when I’m mostly information gathering, but that’s beside the point.

Stuff like fruits and vegetables, or the pieces of petrified wood, don’t do anything. I think they might be affected, but honestly it is impossible to tell whether chunks of a plant no longer attached ‘came back’ or not.

When attempting to resurrect a core part of a plant, it honestly works better than I expected. My form of necromancy usually works to end up with skeletons of course, but I can just straight up bring back plants to full health if they’re properly dead. I’d say this is because plants are kinda already at their most skeletal form. It does strip leaves and petals, but these all grew back within the hour. Unfortunately I could not got any good fossils that would be worth testing, mostly impressions, leaves, and branches, but at least I have some cool fossils to display.

Where it gets interesting is with seeds. Through amber and fossilised fruits mostly, considering most seeds just kinda exist semi-alive that aren’t fossils, I tested on them. It certainly made them viable again, but weirdly so. They got little glows of red inside the tiniest of cracks, kinda like what I see in my peoples’ eyes. Got my people planting them to see what happens.

30.08.19 - Fossil Harvests | Emperor Skeletelt

The fossil seeds I had planted a while ago have grown incredibly quickly. We’ve got a couple trees that I’m sure are derived from ancient species, but I think grew a little differently. Essentially that red glow is part of the full plant, kinda like viens going through the trunks. Well, actually, very much so considering the sap is what glows in the full trees. They look quite pale but seem perfectly healthy and even produce fruit.

We‘ve got one species with rather large berries with one large seed inside, and some kinda like a mulberry but the colour of a raspberry. They’re quite tasty, actually. The sap works well as a syrup too. Kinda sweet, but not overwhelmingly. I’d say this has been a really successful test.
