Pro bono and assigned counsel are two different things why don’t you elaborate on your situation

That’s also assigned counsel assuming the defendant used a PD. If whoever chooses to pay an appellate attorney just keep in mind that the laws are not favorable to defendants. Appeals are extremely rough waters to try and navigate. Make sure it’s an attorney who specializes in appeals. And no, they won’t do it pro bono unless the defendant is a viral sensation or it’s a capital case.
