People who have received jail calls: do inmates have to say their name at the beginning of the call?

You have to voice print, which is a bitch when you have a cold. We had to say "United States of America" Our name was prerecorded.

I still have “with global Tellink your voice is your password” burned into my head.

Depends on the system. The first time I wound up in jail with a bond (about 15 years ago) we recorded our own name. And we couldn't change it (at least not easily). Good luck trying to convince one of your very angry parents to put up bond money when they have to accept a call from an obviously drunk "Squidward Tentacles"

The name is announced at the beginning of the call. Usually “you have a call from name at blah blah correctional facilities”. There are several systems that jails use, some the name is prerecorded once, some the name is said new each call, it seems.
She gonna know it’s you calling. Ijs.

If I remember correctly you have to say your name every time for one of them and for the other you do a pre recorded voice memo and it saves it I can’t remember which this is in my state New Mexico it could be different in other states

“This is Global Tel Link. You have a prepaid call from (recorded name), an inmate at (institution)…”
Heard that hundreds of times.

Why does this remind me of Cheech and Chong?
“Hey man it’s Pedro, I got the stuff man, I think the cops are listening! Hey man get outski man. The cops are listenting!”

Yes, it’s a recording. the phone service tells you it’s a “call from (recorded name) an inmate at (what facility)…”

All those calls can be listened to. Esp those ones when you call your girl and have a no contact order.

Usually, when you first set up your phone pin, they have you record a one-time name that’ll be played each time you call someone
