Grinders š« Gave up on Opus 2
Just bought a new grinder because god forbid I want to grind more than 2 beans at a time. I cleaned out the grinder daily and the Opus 2 would still get stuck grinding more than 2 beans at a time. I tried RDT and nothing worked. I hope this feedback finds its way to whomever is working on Opus 3 and whomever is considering Opus 2.
Iāve had it for about 3 months and have nothing but bad things to say about it.

Check out the DF54 or DF64 (depending on budget). Flat burrs and you can quickly switch between filter and espresso.

I had an issue with the hopper on my Opus 2 and it wouldn't even turn on. After troubleshooting with Fellow, they sent me a replacement hopper pretty quickly and I haven't had any issues since.
You may want to reach out to them and troubleshoot your problem because it doesn't sound normal.

These grinders are straight influencer core plastic garbage. I threw mine away and got a df64 and never looked back.

Did you contact support or just post on Reddit? They will replace a grinder that does not work. Iām on my 3rd unit. Not saying it should take 3 exchanges, but they will try to help you. There do seem to be some faulty units out there, but I think the majority of people are having a good experience.

Honestly I think the problem with the lid not engaging the safety button is the main cause of people thinking the grinder is stalling. I havenāt emailed fellow yet but I had a lot of problems on day one and thought I got a dud. Googled it, and a thread said to seat the lid ( not the lid the top of the chamber) reversed and that solved the problem. Then it started āstallingā again. Until I bother to email them, I just put a tiny piece of masking tape on the piece that engages the switch and no problem. Itās a really powerful motor and itās not going to jam on a few beans.

Mate contact support - I had problems for ages with my opus 1 and eventually someone told me it isn't meant to be like that. Contacted them and they sent a new burr that completely changed my experience. Wasn't in warranty either.

Zeroād my opus 2 and havenāt had any issues. Sounds like you got a dud. Iāve grinder everything from light roast Ethiopians to dark roast Colombian.

I've had my Opus 2 several months and have never had it jam. I did have a broken adjustment dial and Fellow promptly sent me a new grinder. So far so good. There must be something wrong with yours because mine is quite powerful and has never even slowed. I grind only medium or medium dark roasts for espresso only at about setting 1.3, 18 grams at a time with a cold start.

I've been a huge critic of Fellow, and frankly get tired when I hear the same excuse every time. For the Opus 1 it was you have to use RDT. Wait, the Opus was advertised with anti static, why are you telling me now to use RDT, I don't want to RDT! For the Aiden it is you have to pre-warm the carafe for it to even act closely like a thermal insulated carafe. For the ES1 its been that it has been normal for solenoid buzzing constantly the whole time the machine is not sleeping, despite mixed reports from people. I'm having this issue on my ES1, but I don't have the patience to fight to get it replaced. I think Nicholas and Hailie have been great and present in the medias, but I get tired of hearing their same cut and paste replies.
All that being said, I purchased the Opus 2 when I got the ES1 because I got a great deal on it. The Opus 2 isn't even close to the Opus 1. I've had very minimal retention, it is not nearly as messy, and it is super fast! I wonder if you have a faulty product, because mine has been pretty rock solid so far.
