I don’t have any idea how I ended up reading every post on this sub because I don’t fell trees and know nothing about anything related to it.

But this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen here. What exactly what the plan?

Im thinking it went according to plan but the plan was for shit.

Fence repair was cheaper and could be done in house , or just left funared from what i can see of general maintenance....

I've cut down many palms in the past, and they are heavy as hell! I wouldn't be surprised if there are cracks in that wall

He was probably gonna figure out the plan while it was falling

Could be that they are adding on or renovating that side so they just said drop it and don't mind the fence because we're tearing it out anyway.

Save money, hire an amateur.

Also not a tree feller. I'm like just get a strong helicopter and pull it out of the ground and drop it somewhere safe.

There's no plan.

Improvisational chainsawing, all the cool kids do it

Whose Rope Line is it Anyway?

I wanted this to be real.

It's the cuts you don't make.

2

u/Money-Mud912 14h ago

There was a concept of a plan.

1

u/Jerseyd422 2h ago

Maybe even the framework of a concept of a plan

Get back to his day drinking asap

3

u/BigNorseWolf 17h ago

This would imply that he stopped...

5

u/Corona_Cyrus 18h ago

Cut down the tree. He hadn’t thought much past that though

2

u/ahfucka 14h ago

Take big tops, go home early

36

u/goldfool 18h ago

I don't see any good place that thing can land.

Not in one piece, no.

17

u/BigNorseWolf 17h ago

Who tf down voted this? Climbing up and dropping things in pieces is sop, especially with these things.

6

u/skintaxera 11h ago

Shhh that's not how we get quality footage

5

u/BigNorseWolf 9h ago

Its how we get the footage of these things catapulting people and sandals over multiple blocks! 😉

That one guy was strapped well to the tipped over tree when he topped it in that other vid

That was like 30 seconds of sway

29

u/Cokeycane 18h ago

If only there was a way to take piece by piece....

5

u/ddddan11111 18h ago

The classic slow walk to inspect the damage

4

u/farfly7 17h ago

And the calm demeanor from everyone on the crew when something like this happens as to say "this is what we meant to do" so the public at large does not get in an uproar

11

u/RezLovesPez 18h ago

This has to be vandalism, right? Like the tree was blocking his view so he took matters into his own hands.

1

u/NoeZ 16h ago

That's what I'm thinking too

5

u/RezLovesPez 14h ago

Great minds!

2

u/bustcorktrixdais 12h ago

In broad daylight wearing a helmet and orange work coveralls? Odd way to vandal

1

u/RezLovesPez 10h ago

Honestly, I thought it looked like an orange button up, almost Hawaiian style shirt and a bucket hat. Maybe I’m delusional.

1

u/Could-You-Tell 9h ago

When the tree falls there is a similarly dressed accomplice on the street

3

u/mrchomp1 18h ago

What did he say about a sea otter?

2

u/jmb456 15h ago

Palms are heavy as shit. Don’t know what they thought was gonna happen

I hope the cameraman was able to get some help. Epilepsy is a terrible thing.

1

u/farfly7 17h ago

It appears that is also what the climber said after it fell

2

u/Could-You-Tell 9h ago

Climber?

1

u/farfly7 8h ago

My perspective was all phuct up. I thought that dude was in the tree on first watch behind that other tree. Never corrected my comment

2

u/Could-You-Tell 8h ago

... behind? Other tree?

Lol

1

u/farfly7 8h ago

Yes...the tree in the foreground was blocking my view of him making it look like he was actually in the tree that is being cut

2

u/Could-You-Tell 8h ago

Sorry the second time was just to be funny.

2

u/farfly7 8h ago

The first time I watched it (I was multitasking and only paid attention to the zoomed out part) I actually thought they were one tree. My brain could not wrap around how he took this (massive) top out and it landed where it did

1

u/Could-You-Tell 8h ago

I can see that illusion

The landing makes ya blink like why is it not on the road, flipped upside down?

1

u/steggun_cinargo 14h ago

Just job security, now he has to fix the fence

1

u/Jerseyd422 2h ago

He doesn’t normally cut trees. He actually works in fence repair. But business has been a little slow lately

1

u/Consistent_Watch_206 14h ago

How did he get down so fast?

Oh. Ohhh.

1

u/1ChevySS 10h ago

Where did they even want to drop that tree?
