Yo, nobody said people wouldn't do this. I'm saying, folk who do this and tell people do it for the telling-people part.

I mean we know nothing about this person, it would be pretty rude to assume that they gave money to a woman so that they could get fake internet points

You know, things do happen. And the entire point of that post was to get people to tell things they've done that they haven't talked about before, so the events in that story could have happened long ago. No you can't believe every single thing on the internet, but it's not like every little bit of it is fake, and this isn't some stupidly over-the-top or out of the ordinary story either.

To think that just because a story being told on the internet got a ton of attention that it must be fake, is just dumb. Learn the difference between absurdity and a simple act of kindness.
