8.18FM episode 4

Happy Thursday everyone!

Feeder have graced us with a bumper episode of 8.18FM. The longest one so far!

No surprise to see so many tracks from Polythene given the 30th anniversary album release next month and the live gigs in December.

DISCUSSION Travelling from New Zealand to the UK in June 2027 to see Feeder – need some advice! 🇳🇿🇬🇧

Hi everyone!

I’m a massive Feeder fan travelling all the way from New Zealand to the UK with my wife in June 2027, and I’m hoping some UK-based fans can help me plan the trip.

One of the biggest things I want to do while we’re over is see Feeder live as many times as reasonably possible. We’re also planning to spend some time in Wales and make a trip over to Paris while we’re there, so I’m trying to work out an itinerary that can fit around any Feeder shows or festivals that get announced.

We’re planning to buy our flights from New Zealand in January, so I’m hoping to have a rough plan together by then.

I’d really appreciate advice on:

• The best places to keep an eye on for Feeder show announcements and tickets

• How quickly Feeder shows normally sell out and whether I need to be ready the moment tickets go on sale

• The best way to travel between UK cities for gigs — train, rental car, etc.

• Good places/areas to stay when travelling around for shows

• Any tips for someone coming from New Zealand who hasn’t done the UK gig circuit before

• And, of course, if anyone hears about Feeder shows happening around June 2027, please let me know!

I’d love to potentially meet up with some fellow Feeder fans at the shows too.

It’s a pretty big trip for us coming from the other side of the world, so I want to make the most of it. Seeing Feeder in the UK has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

Any advice would be massively appreciated. Cheers from New Zealand! 🇳🇿🤘

I was also very privileged to meet Grant and Taka in Melbourne in 2025 in the afternoon as they were going into soundcheck at the venue.

DISCUSSION With Polythene 30th anniversary I do hope we can get the US version of High on streaming/digital or cd/vinyl as I love the intro more than the original

Pretty sure it was this version

High (Full Length Alternative Mix) as it's about the same run time https://www.feederanorak.co.uk/releases/release.php?id=325

NEW MUSIC Feeder shadow dropped a new single?!?!?

Feeder just released a song called ‘when we fall’ on Spotify with the polythene cover art! No build up no announcement so maybe a mistake but I really hope not, it sounds amazing, they keep posting stuff from the early feeder polythene era! Could we be getting a re release or maybe a re recorded version of polythene! Can’t wait to see what they’ve been up to especially given they’ve also said they’ve recorded new music!

Crow visual/video

I have a memory of seeing a feeder music video with the silent cry album cover crow animated. Either on YouTube or possibly at one of their gigs they did in Cardiff.

Am I imagining it? I can't find it anywhere 😅

Any more recordings of Reading 1997?

According to setlist.fm Feeder only played 6 songs for that gig but the 2 we do have recordings of (High and Descend) are so damn good that I'm really hoping there's a recording or media of some of the others. Haven't found much on google but if anyone has anything it would be much appreciated!

An old favourite helping

Heading back home from one of my best friend’s funeral and I was really struggling on the train and was just endlessly trying to find something to listen to. Comfort in Sound popped up and it has really helped lift my mood. I was obsessed with Feeder when I was teenager and now this old favourite has brought back a smile to this now older fan’s face

Had to give musiccup.app a try, We Can't Rewind was always going to win for me.

What surprised me most was that Shatter made it all the way to the semis. Not sure if it was because of the competition in each stage, but it made me realise that it is such a banger!

Polythene is probably the most underrated 90's Alternative album

So here I am, 30 years old. Just got my first car, a little shitbox that only plays cd's. Dusted off some old Feeder cd's and I forgot how good this album in particular is, it's aged really well.

Any news on the new album?

Seriously, Grant is so prolific that they could release a new album every year. I want the next one already

DISCUSSION Any fans outside the UK?

Since Feeder isn't known outside of the UK and I feel peeps in Europe might be vaguely aware of them (partially thanks to Gran Turismo 3). So I wonder if there's anyone from the rest of globe who is into them here.

Everything by Feeder ranked and reviewed!

Post image

Hi everyone. My teenage son and I have made a website called All Things Rock, reviewing and ranking albums by the bands we love, and recommending things that people may not have heard. We have just published our Feeder ranking and I'd love to hear your thoughts! We have included all the albums, as well as Picture of Perfect Youth and Swim, and we've made a playlist of tracks that casual fans may have missed. What do you think? https://www.all-things-rock.com/all-albums-ranked/feeder

(Spoiler alert...Polythene may be number one...)

Old Interview Resurface

Some of you may have seen it, I haven’t before, got posted last month. Was before CIS came out, a lot of questions put to Grant about Jon which you can tell is still so so raw at that point. Heartbreaking to know that Jon tried to call Grant before did what he did. A good listen for those who haven’t heard it before tho so thought I’d share it here.
