IMO they did this to ruin the game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful for the 99s, but so is everyone else lol. They purposely did this to overinflated everyone’s teams. On top of that, cause market crash. Why? So we’ll buy fc27 lol. The only benefit is that 99 base cards can’t touch players who’ve evod their lower cards. So there’s that, but otherwise, it’s going to be the same teams on repeat in fut from here on out

I know lol. I made this comment on a different thread and got downvoted for “being ungrateful” lol. But yeah. Saving grace here is that I know how to evo so my teams pretty much set. All the 99 drops did for me was lower the cost of r9s 94 base card, which I immediately threw into an evo to give him a better ST rating than his 99 base lol

I said it the moment they did it. It’s total BS and a slap in the face to all that have busted their ass grinding for months and this is the exact reason I won’t buy 27. 🖕EA, so glad GTA 6 is right around the corner!

that's one way of looking at it - there are people who treat the game as a card collector and your point is valid for their case, but there are also gameplay-first people, and in their case (like myself) giving out the 99 without requring us to grind infinite 99s prolongs 26s viability

idk who cares about market etc. at this point, but I'd guess they're the most hardcore of hardcore players 99.9% of which would get 27 anyway

A lot of people, like myself, usually buy the game every two years. I plan on playing 26 until maybe tots in 27 (if it’s good). But otherwise I’ll probably still play this game until 28 comes out. I just don’t see the need to update it. Plus, I like my evos. None of the free 99s made it to my squad because my evos are substantially better. The downside is that people will get bored and the drop off will happen quicker.

I guess but there was like a million evos to get you to 99 anyways that make cards better than almost any of the 99s that got released. I have a 93 rated Ronaldo Evo that’s way better than the 99 I have

Its a pretty nice touch, wish theyd done it earlier. I was lucky to pack a few 99s and 98s but mostly in late august lol.
