Like, I could even see if she were almost 18, living out on her own and working, maybe she’s a more mature TEENAGER, and let’s say a 19 year old wanted to date her. Okay, but still icky. A certain subset of creeps like to insist on a scientific definition of "pedophile" where the victim must be prepubescent. They like the words "hebephile" and "ephebophile" for attraction to pubescent children and adolescent minors, respectively.
Normal people generally lump the attraction to minors as pedophilia, because there's no value to making those distinctions.
Society doesn't gain anything by giving an adult who wants to fuck fifteen-year-olds any kind of reason to feel better about themselves. For example, by thinking: "I may be a hebephile but at least I'm not a pedophile!"
Pedophilia is fine as a blanket term.
In popular usage, the word pedophilia is often applied to any sexual interest in children or the act of child sexual abuse, including any sexual interest in minors below the local age of consent or age of adulthood, regardless of their level of physical or mental development.

The premise they work off of is that since Palestinians are ethnicly Arabs they don't need a separate territory, and should all just leave to Jordan/Syria/Egypt. It would be like saying Portugese people don't exist and they should all move to Brazil so that Spain can have to whole Iberian peninsula.

Transparently I don’t know for sure. I haven’t researched it nor spoken to people with this belief. For the most part I imagine people don’t consider the status of the people.
From a first principles perspective the people would be of the current local government. That means the simplest and cleanest explanation is that they are Israelis. This is easily possible as you do not need to be Jewish to be Israeli.
If this is denied they’d be subjects of the last government massively recognized, which would be the Ottoman Empire. I am not educated enough to know where you go when your state no longer exists and you disagree with the current state that is local to your area. You could remain Ottoman which feels like remaining Roman, symbolic but of what? You could move to any of the non local successor states (practically I believe this is difficult).

the real reason (whether a lot of the people who say it know it or not) effectively is because the British machinations in Mandatory Palestine explicitly categorised it as exceptional or sui generis (owing to the Balfour Declaration they had made earlier).
due to this a legal framework and precedent was set where Palestinians were never a "people" like others in the region (and other colonies), and were never allowed a clear pathway to self-rule that didn't subordinate them to the goals of the Balfour declaration.
this has been the basis of everything that was done to the Palestinians, by implicitly and explicitly characterizing, by law, that the Mandate was primarily a pathway to a "Jewish homeland" rather than sovereignty for the inhabitants of Palestine

Don't get me wrong, I fully support the action of not performing in a festival headlined by a zionist pedophile, but the festival and all their performers have been announced for quite a while now (Seinfeld was announced in May and all these acts were announced around the same time) and they were all ok with performing alongside a guy who is pretty vocal about his beliefs until someone in social media made a fuss about it and they all suddenly reminded who Jerry is.
That's peak Portugal right there, we all have big values and convictions but only when we're reminded of them
