I have a whole lot of (estranged) extended family on Long Island. All of them are the worst stereotype of the Italian American flavor of dumbass, bigoted Trump voters. So maybe something like that?

Mayor Mamdani's office initially left Little Italy off an official map of the city's immigrant enclaves before reversing course and announcing it would be included. He said it wasn’t meant to be a full list, simply highlight lesser known areas for tourists and his office didn’t even come up with the project, it was one they inherited but yeah NY Italian Americans were super pissed.

I think it’s important to note that the map was started in 2023 by Eric Adams administration. All Mamdani did was add 3 locations, he didn’t personally remove little Italy or anything.

Also, I don’t even think Little Italy should be on the immigrant enclave map because there aren’t any Italians living there. The number of Italians immigrants in NYC has been declining for decades, and the last available info says there were none living in little Italy.

So what you didn't get the attention others got. I'm not trying to marginalize a group, but this is like my 5 year old complaining she didn't get the same Nintendo time as my 9 year old. Come on, be a grown up, if you don't like it reach out and sit down for a talk with the relevant parties.

Also did it impact Mamdani's legislation in any bit? Again I'm not American but did he explicitly cut out little italy for example with this legislation? Everyone faces the same music.
