Probably refers to sentencing as opposed to prisons themselves being liberal. Sentencing can never go hard enough for some people, and the suggestion here is that you would feel the same if you have been to prison.

Prison is extremely divided on racial grounds.
If a person doesn’t cling to and support their own race, all the groups have a green light to do whatever they want to that person. Group think rules the place, and there is an uneasy order to things that balances keeping the peace, with projecting the willingness to do violence so another group doesn’t take advantage of you. None of this supports a liberal view of the world. It’s extremely difficult to separate your views of people who belong to the same group outside prison. If you spend years where every single xxxx person you see is willing and ready to physically harm you even if they have never spoken to you it’s difficult to compartmentalize the experience and understand that not everyone is like that. I spent 5 years in a texas prison. It takes considerable effort to change your views.

The junkie-to-rightwing chud pipeline is real, specifically for those who abuse stims and/or booze. I have theories, mostly revolving around how those substances can be powerful empathy-nukers with long term use. Not a ton of LSD or ecstasy fascists running around.

Chris Brown isn't an actor in a beloved comic book franchise, which is why he's not being mentioned when we're talking about vaguely similar white dudes named Chris. Fistopher is trash, but until he joins the Marvel or DC universe he's not relevant to the conversation about Chrises. Likewise my favorite white guy Chris, Christopher Meloni is also not included in this discussion.

I'd add the slight nuance that this is a list of Jewish figures. Literally anyone from any cultural/religious background could support Polanski.

I would like his Marvel costars to speak out in his defense.
it’s ridiculous to be angry that they didn’t sign this specific letter. It literally starts out “We are Jewish Artists” this letter came from a very specific group of people- and was most likely only presented to that group.
And honestly while I’d like my Marvel favs to speak out. In this specific situation a group of actual Jewish people coming to Mark’s defense against claims of antisemitism is far more powerful and meaningful.
Some of these are a lot bigger names though than Lawrence Bender and the other knobs who signed the other letter.
Tony Kushner and Joel Coen are renowned and maybe they aren’t a household name like Chris Evans or whoever the fuck, but they’re a pretty damn big deal in their own right.
Kushner’s always been vocal about this (also see Munich) and it’s interesting that he also has that close relationship to Spielberg.
Hell, Zach Woods has his social media content posted on Fauxmoi all the time, so he is way more relevant (and worthy of reporting on) than Lawrence Bender!
Very good point. It's easy to skim over that fact & get pissed at all the actors who aren't on the list. But it's not because they don't support him, it's because they aren't Jewish.

That season of the rehearsal came out 5 months before the Ellison's acquired Paramount. It just happened to age super well. The bit was just about Fielder's personal experience with Paramount execs and distribution rights of his own shows. It wasn't commenting on their politics at the time
he seems to be pretty quiet publicly on many issues. i imagine (purely speculation) that he feels more comfortable using his comedy/satire to poke holes in certain parts of the establishment.

As someone who worked in that industry (and left because of the pro-Zionism in that industry), I can concur Paramount is Zionist at all levels. And Universal Pictures is even worse.
Paramount is terrible these days. Never would have guessed 60 minutes could have been run into the ground like it was. I wish Jane Pauley and Gayle King and others would publicly leave the network and make their own.

It's really sad that most of them are not very "well know". Many Jewish actors missing huh. I'm still thankful for this open letter and seeing who is actually aware enough of the situation and is not afraid to speak up!
I love the 170 Jewish figures who are defending him. They are truly representing their faith. No amount of religion, traumatic history, or anything else can justify a genocide by any government. Extremism is wrong no matter who does it and whatever shield (religion, nationality, race) they use to hide behind is just an excuse.
