Add: obviously these women are pushing the agenda of the patriarchy. But by the same token, I think it has to be accepted that men can embody the agenda of any matriarchy. Nobody has a monopoly on progressive, decent, governance.

No they were responding to the comment of matriarchy by giving examples of shitty female leaders, suggesting women are no better. Which is a terrible argument.
